Kristin Cavallari Makes Rare Comment About Ex Jay Cuter & His Fiancée

Kristin Cavallari knows breaking up is hard to do.

That’s why the former Laguna Beach star found a common ground with fellow reality personality Kim Zolciak due to their high-profile divorces, as they both opened up about this aspect during the debut of her latest show Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.

During their live podcast in Atlanta on June 4th, Kristin expressed genuine empathy to the former star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” saying, “I can really understand how tough it must be for you right now.

Within the confines of a confessional space, Kristin, who formally ended her two-year marriage to Jay Cutler in 2022, expressed even more empathy towards the reality TV personality.

Specifically, I asked how she was handling his relationship progression with Samantha Robertson and the presence of a new woman in their children’s lives – Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9.

Kristin shared that she had known the person prior to their separation. This, she believes, was beneficial as it allowed her to imagine their relationship dynamics better.

Even though Kim, who has children Kroy Jr., 13, Kash, 12, twins Kaia and Kane, 11, Brielle, 27, and Ariana, 23, with her estranged husband Kroy Biermann, admitted that she often wonders about how she will feel in the future.

Kristin then got candid looking back on her breakup from the former football star.

She expressed her viewpoint, saying, “I don’t think it’s right to stay married just for the children’s sake.” She continued, “Hard times lead us to better ones. Sometimes, divorce can actually be beneficial.

At another point in the episode, Kristin admitted her and Jay’s divorce was a long time coming.

Looking back, I can see that deep within me, I had already sensed it. At that time in my life, I was genuinely unhappy and under a lot of pressure. Since my children were young then, they weren’t aware of the headlines or anything like that. Now, with my kids being 12, 10, and 9 years old, their wellbeing is my top priority at the moment.

Kristin experienced Hattie B’s famous fried chicken for the first time in March 2025, and she shared a video with her son Camden at one of their popular Nashville locations. “I’ve never had it all these years,” Kristin said in an Instagram Story. After trying a piece, Camden commented, “It’s not really hot.” The Hills alum and her son approved, labeling the chicken as “so freakin’ good” in the caption.
