Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Crosses 500,000 Players

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can honestly say that it’s a breath of fresh air to see Capcom venturing into uncharted territories with new IP like Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. With so many gaming giants relying on their established franchises, it’s refreshing to see a company take a risk and create something unique.

Over the past few years, Capcom has primarily leaned on well-known franchises like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, and others. So, when this company occasionally ventures into uncharted territory with new IP, it’s natural to want them to succeed. Recently, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess was released by Capcap, and this action-strategy game appears to have had a strong debut.

On Twitter, Capcom shared that over half a million players worldwide have engaged with Kunitsu-Gami across all platforms. It’s important to note that this number does not equate to the game’s total sales, as it’s been accessible through Game Pass since its initial release. Nevertheless, amassing such a sizable player base for a new intellectual property within weeks of launch is quite remarkable.

In celebration of this achievement, Capcom will bestow various in-game rewards upon players: the Mazo Talisman – Jubilee, Dancing Crane, and an Okami collaboration Mazo Talisman – Amaterasu.

In our assessment of the game, we gave it an 8 out of 10, stating, “Kunitsu-Gami” is a fascinating blend of action and strategy that offers continuous novelty and tranquil intervals. Even if you’re not fond of strategy or action games, I suggest giving this game a try because it offers an immersive experience that goes beyond both genres, thanks to its more subdued moments.
