As a fan of animated television and particularly of Kyle Carrozza’s work on “Mighty Magiswords,” I am deeply saddened and shocked by the recent news of his arrest on child pornography possession charges. It is disheartening to learn that someone who has brought joy and creativity to countless viewers through their animated projects could be involved in such distressing allegations.
Kyle Carrozza, the mastermind behind “Mighty Magiswords” for Cartoon Network, was taken into custody on June 20th in Burbank, California, by the local police department. The arrest came following an investigation led by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in relation to two allegations of child pornography possession. According to the daily arrest log released by the Burbank Police Department, as covered by Cartoon Brew, Carrozza faces charges under California penal code 311.11(a), which pertains to the unlawful possession of child pornography.
Carrozza faces an additional accusation under section 311.11(c) of the law, as reported by Cartoon Brew. This offense applies to individuals who intentionally possess over a dozen videos or six hundred images depicting child pornography. If proven guilty, Carrozza will be mandated to register as a sex offender and may be charged with either a misdemeanor or a felony, resulting in up to one year of county jail time or up to five years of state prison, depending on the sentence.
What Is Mighty Magiswords?
Kyle Carrozza had recently contributed to projects including “The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish.” However, he is best known for creating the innovative animated venture, “Mighty Magiswords,” which initially debuted as a unique digital release on the Cartoon Network app. This series deviated from traditional broadcast animation by consisting of shorts and interactive media. It revolved around the quirky theme of its main characters discovering various swords with distinct appearances and capabilities. The digital success of “Mighty Magiswords” eventually led to a full series order that ran for two seasons.
Mighty Magiswords was one of the Cartoon Network series removed from Max a few years back, but ran for 92 episodes through the course of its run. Mighty Magiswords is still available for purchase with digital platforms such as Prime Video, and they tease the Cartoon Network series as such, “Prohyas and Vambre, the brother and sister team of Warriors for Hire, are always up for a quest. But they never know what quest will drop in their laps! Giant pigs, giant spiders, or giant ancient dinosaurs, they can handle whatever giant quest you want; but not without their trusted collection of Magiswords.”
