Kylie Jenner Honors Late Hair Guru at Her First Oscars with Timothée Chalamet

Kylie Jenner was missing a valued member of her glam squad on 2025 Oscars night.

Last month, the hairstylist of a Kardashians star, Jesus Guerrero, tragically passed away at the age of 34. As per his makeup artist, Ariel Tejada, he had been eagerly anticipating seeing Kylie Jenner at her first-ever Academy Awards with her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet. (Take a look at all the Oscars arrivals here.)

Ariel posted on Instagram on March 2nd, ‘Today was tough without you, but I could feel your excitement for Ky at the Oscars. Here’s a picture of Kylie in her Miu Miu gown with wavy hair.’ In other words, she felt your spirit guiding us today.

In his tribute, Ariel, who worked alongside Jesus on various projects, expressed, “May we have honored you well. Our love for you remains eternal.

Indeed, both Ariel and Kylie had a close bond with the late hair guru.

On the 22nd of February, I, Ariel, expressed that family isn’t necessarily tied by blood; sometimes, it’s those we deliberately choose to be a part of our lives who become our family. I was fortunate enough to have you as my chosen family, and in a similar vein, I view Jesus as my steadfast support and unshakable foundation – my Anchor and my Rock.

There are many lessons to be gleaned from Jesus, not just his remarkable abilities that you may already be familiar with, but also his humility, kindness, tenacity, passion for life, and the immense good and joy he brought into every space he entered and every life he touched with his radiant spirit.

Likewise, the loss has affected Kylie in an unimaginable way.

In a recent Instagram post on February 25th, she expressed that Jesus was far beyond just a friend to her; he was a beacon of light in her life, providing laughter, solace, love, and unyielding encouragement. She can’t imagine how she would have navigated the past near-decade without him by her side. He had an extraordinary ability to make even the most burdensome days seem less overwhelming.

Kylie Cosmetics’ founder went on to say, “Losing you is more than I can handle, and I’m struggling to find a way to go on without you. Yet, I recognize that profound sorrow stems from profound love, and my affection for you was immense.

Actually, Kylie stated that sleeping has been particularly challenging for her following Jesus’ death, as she posted a screenshot from a seven-hour FaceTime conversation with Ariel on her Instagram Stories on February 28th.

She added, “I love you @makeupbyariel.”
