LA Dodgers Star Shohei Ohtani Taps JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure for New Theme Song

As a longtime fan of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Shohei Ohtani taking the mound at Dodger Stadium with “il vento d’oro” playing in the background! It was an unexpected surprise that brought a huge smile to my face.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has seen some wild rises in popularity over the years. While fans wait to see whether the anime franchise will return to the small screen with a new season, the Joestars’ story is continuing to find new avenues to reach potential fans. In the past, we here at ComicBook have reported various athletes who wear their love of anime on their sleeves, sometimes quite literally. Now, in a recent LA Dodgers baseball game, one of the biggest stars of the Los Angeles team has let the world know that he is a big fan of Giorno Giovanna and the Golden Wind.

As a long-time fan of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, I have been captivated by the intriguing storylines and unique characters that this anime series has to offer. Among all the Joestars we’ve encountered, Giorno stands out as an exceptional character with a compelling backstory.

The LA Dodgers Stand Tall

At the baseball field, Shohei Ohtani approached the mound with “il vento d’oro” by Yugo Kanno playing in the background – a selection made by his wife Mamiko for Women’s Night at the Dodgers game. (Major League Baseball: Shohei Ohtani’s wife, Mamiko, chose the anime theme song “il vento d’oro” by artist Yugo Kanno as his walkup music for the Dodgers’ Women’s Night game.)

At the Dodgers game on Women’s Night last yesterday, Shohei Ohtani’s wife Mamiko selected an unconventional walkup song for her husband. Instead of a popular hit, she opted for “il vento d’oro” from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series, sung by artist Yugo Kanno.

Previously in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Giorno, the anime’s Joestar, successfully claimed leadership of Passione mob. However, since then, fans have not witnessed any return of Dio Brando’s son. It’s important to note that this doesn’t imply a permanent goodbye. The series creator Hirohiko Araki has resurrected beloved side character Kishibe Rohan, indicating the possibility for more characters to reappear.
