Since 2004, with only a brief hiatus from 2010 to 2014, Lacey Turner has been playing the character of Stacey Slater on EastEnders. However, she recently shared that she felt anxious about shooting her very first scene.
Discussing her debut into soap opera at age 16 in 2004, Turner recounts that the initial scene, where she consumed a cheese sandwich, was “awful” for her since she was “too timid to inform anyone that I wasn’t fond of cheese.
She mentions, “I delivered a soliloquy with Mo present in the kitchen. Over time, I’ve kept an eye on many individuals because I would often notice you coming and going from my small market stand regularly.
Wallace notes how “terrifying” it was for him, and Turner replies that it was “so nerve-wracking because I had to prepare the sandwich, give the speech, and then eat it afterwards. It all seemed overwhelming, and I couldn’t help but think, ‘Oh dear God.’
