As a seasoned moviegoer who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless productions, I must say that Taylor Sheridan’s latest offering, Landman, has piqued my interest significantly. With his knack for creating gritty, character-driven dramas set against the backdrop of America’s heartland, Sheridan seems to have struck oil yet again with this tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs.
Given Yellowstone, its sequels, Tulsa King, Lioness, and Mayor of Kingstown on his resume, you might think that Taylor Sheridan already has a full plate.
Similar to Ryan Murphy, Shonda Rhimes, and Dick Wolf, renowned for their high-volume television creations, Sheridan is now focusing on a fresh project titled “Landman”. This series takes place within the setting of west Texas oil rigs.
Billy Bob Thornton leads the cast as Tommy Norris, a crisis manager working in the industry.

As a hands-on movie buff, I find myself balancing the roles of a troubleshooter and a supervisor. While I work side by side with the top brass, my day-to-day interactions are more focused on the team out in the field. I’m the one who checks the wells daily, gathers the data to pass along to him, negotiates with landowners, and if any issues arise on their property, such as an accident at the rig, it falls upon me to address the situation, liaise with lawyers, and find a swift resolution.

Landman release date: When will it air?
The first two episodes will premiere in the UK on Monday 18th November on Paramount Plus from 8am.
The remaining eight episodes will air weekly.
