Lanterns Star May Have Just Spoiled They’re Playing One of DC’s Biggest Heroes

In a possible hint, Garret Dillahunt might be suggesting that he’s taking on the role of a well-known DC hero in the series “Lanterns.” This HBO original show revolves around the Green Lantern franchise, with a focus on Earth-based heroes Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre). Dillahunt is now part of the “Lanterns” cast, although the specific character he’s portraying remains unclear. Fans have speculated that Dillhunt could be embodying a figure linked to the Green Lanterns, either as an ally or adversary. However, his recent social media posts seem to indicate that he might be playing a heroic role. DC enthusiasts might be on the lookout for a new Green Arrow within the DC Universe.

Garret Dillahunt recently shared Instagram Stories showcasing storyboards where he dons a dark mask, hood, and sports a white goatee, reminiscent of Oliver Queen, also known as Green Arrow. In another post, he adds color to the image along with the phrase “Ollie Ollie oxen free,” hinting at a possible reveal for fans.

By examining the responses on the DCU Updates account, it becomes clear that fans are divided over whether Dillahunt’s confirmation of being Green Arrow is genuine or just playful teasing. However, a previous Instagram Story featuring an elderly LEGO figure resembling Green Arrow, which might hint at a potential casting for Green Arrow. This custom-built LEGO figure was designed to resemble the one-armed Green Arrow from The Dark Knight Returns.

In the series titled “Lanterns”, Garret Dillahunt portrays William Macon. The ensemble also features Paul Ben-Victor, who was seen in “Entourage”; Kelly Macdonald from “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”; Poorna Jagannathan of “Deli Boys”; Sherman Augustus known for his role in “Stranger Things”; Nicole Ari Parker, a cast member of “And Just Like That…”; Jason Ritter, previously seen in “Matlock”; Chris Coy, from “Lawmen: Bass Reeves”; and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro.

Stephen Amell played Oliver Queen in the live-action series “Arrow,” which aired on The CW for eight seasons. “Arrow” was the first DC live-action show to air on The CW, and it started what we now call the Arrowverse on that network. This series gave birth to other shows like “The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Supergirl,” “Batwoman,” and “Superman & Lois.” These shows also shared storylines during special events, such as when they adapted Crisis on Infinite Earths.

As a die-hard film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news from the world of DC Comics. It seems that another Green Lantern is set to join the ranks alongside Hal Jordan and John Stewart in an upcoming project by James Gunn, tentatively titled “Superman”. The charismatic Nathan Fillion is rumored to reprise his role as Guy Gardner in this production.

James Gunn has hinted that a few other Green Lanterns will be sprinkled throughout the film as surprises for dedicated DC fans, and now it appears that one of them will indeed be Guy Gardner. Additionally, Ulrich Thomsen, known for his roles in “Counterpart” and “The Blacklist”, has been confirmed to portray Sinestro. However, it remains unclear whether he’ll debut as a member of the Green Lantern Corps or as the leader of the Yellow Lanterns.

This news adds another layer of anticipation to an already exciting project in the DC Extended Universe!
