Last One Laughing confirms season 2 on Prime Video after huge ratings

The popular show, “Last One Laughing UK,” will make its comeback on Amazon Prime Video for a second season, following the success of its initial release on the streaming platform.

The upcoming installment is set to be filmed towards the end of this year, comprising six half-hour episodes each. It’s scheduled to debut globally sometime in 2026.

This round of events hasn’t revealed the participating comedians just yet, but we can confirm that Jimmy Carr will be back as the host. Excitedly, Jimmy shared his joy about the show’s return, stating he was “thrilled” to be a part of it once more.

It seems someone with authority at Amazon might have accidentally subscribed to Prime Video’s auto-renewal service, which could be the reason our services are running again.

I’m thrilled that everyone enjoyed watching the first season as much as we enjoyed creating it. I can hardly wait to revel in the success of the next ten comedy greats as they take up the challenge!

In this adaptation from the Japanese series Documental, ten comedians find themselves confined within a single residence, where they must strive to induce laughter in their fellow competitors, all while maintaining composure and avoiding bursting into laughter themselves.

The comedian who survives longest without laughing is then crowned winner at the end of the run.

In the inaugural UK run of the series, Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett, Judi Love, Rob Beckett, Sara Pascoe, Lou Sanders, Joe Wilkinson, Harriet Kemsley, and Richard Ayoade competed. Ultimately, it was Mortimer who triumphed in a climactic face-off against Ayoade.

The comedian admitted that he found it harder than expected to keep from laughing during his performance. Even though he spends most of his time without laughter, he discovered it was surprisingly tough. The peculiar ambiance made things challenging for him at first.

As for comedians attempting to amuse him, he stated: “I simply turned and left. A couple of competitors’ acts were so unbearable that I had to avoid looking at their faces.

Beyond the initial Japanese series, Prime Video has also introduced successful adaptations in more than 20 regions. These variations feature popular local hosts such as Graham Norton from Ireland, Jay Baruchel from Canada, Eugenio Derbez from Mexico, Fedez from Italy, Michael ‘Bully’ Herbig from Germany, Rebel Wilson from Australia, and Trevor Noah from South Africa.
