Lauren Graham is playing mom once again.
According to a report by TopMob News on April 24, it has been officially announced by Universal Pictures that the actress known for her role in “Gilmore Girls” will be starring in the movie version of Colleen Hoover’s 2022 novel titled “Reminders of Him”.
The actress known for her roles in “Parenthood” will maintain her reputation for portraying powerful matriarchs, as she assumes the character of Grace Landry. In this role, Grace is the mother of Kenna Rowan’s deceased boyfriend Scotty and serves as the grandmother and legal guardian of Kenna and Scotty’s child, Diem.
Hoover expressed her enthusiasm regarding the casting update by posting on Facebook, “Here’s some exciting news… Lauren Graham will portray Grace in ‘Reminders Of Him’!
Who else will join the cast of the upcoming movie premiering in February 2026? Here are the new additions:
– Maika Monroe, famous for her role in the horror hit “Longlegs,” will portray Kenna, a young mother trying to reconnect with her 4-year-old daughter after serving a five-year prison sentence due to a tragic accident.
– Tyriq Withers from “Tell Me Lies” has been chosen to play Ledger, Scotty’s friend and eventual love interest for Kenna.
– Rudy Pankow from “Outer Banks” will take on the role of Scotty in this upcoming production.
The upcoming movie that Vanessa Caswill will direct is scheduled to begin shooting this month. This movie is one of three film adaptations currently being developed based on Hoover’s works, following the 2024 film “It Ends With Us” starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The adaptation of “Regretting You” is set for release in October of this year, while “Verity” is scheduled for a May 2026 premiere. Both movies were spotted filming last month, one in Atlanta and the other in New York City.
And Hoover has already shared her enthusiasm for the Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway led Verity.
She mentioned during a show on August, titled Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, that she had recently gone through the script. Her enthusiasm for it was clearly evident as she added, “I’m really looking forward to it.
