Lauren Sánchez Gets Shocking $7K Gift From the Kardashians After Space Trip!

Following her trip aboard a Blue Origin rocket, Lauren Sánchez was presented with an extraterrestrial indulgence by the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

On April 16, the partner of Jeff Bezos, founder of an aerospace firm, posted a picture on Instagram Stories of a saucer-shaped Judith Leiber “UFO Orbiter” purse adorned with crystals. She expressed gratitude towards Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kris Jenner in the post.

Following Lauren’s reveal of the product, Kris shared a picture of the expensive handbag (originally priced at $6,995 and quickly sold out) on her Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Absolutely out of this world!”.

“We love youuuu,” the matriarch added, “and are so proud of you!!!”

As a devoted follower, I joined Kris and Khloe on an exciting journey to Texas, where we were part of a glamorous sendoff for Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket and capsule launch. Onboard this historic mission were exceptional women, including the renowned artist Katy Perry, esteemed broadcaster Gayle King, former NASA scientist Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. This pioneering all-female spaceflight marked a significant milestone, surpassing the 60-year gap since the last all-female space voyage.

Following her space voyage aboard a Blue Origin rocket, Lauren Sánchez was bestowed with an extraterrestrial high-end present from the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

On April 16, the fiancee of Jeff Bezos, founder of an aerospace company, posted a picture on her Instagram Stories of a disc-shaped, crystal-studded Judith Leiber “UFO Orbiter” handbag. In the post, she expressed gratitude towards Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kris Jenner.

Upon Lauren revealing the exquisite handbag, I eagerly shared a snapshot of it on my Instagram Stories, exclaiming, “Beyond extraordinary!

“We love youuuu,” the matriarch added, “and are so proud of you!!!”

Kris and Khloe went to Texas for an extravagant event, marking the debut of Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket and capsule. This mission carried Lauren, Katy Perry, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe (a former NASA rocket scientist), Amanda Nguyen (an activist), and Kerianne Flynn (a film producer). Notably, this was the first all-female spaceflight in over six decades.

The team soared slightly beyond the Kármán line, a largely unseen threshold at approximately 62 miles high, often considered the outermost point of space, as NBC News detailed. Following a momentary sensation of weightlessness, they descended back to Earth, having spent roughly 11 minutes in flight.

At the launch event prior to takeoff, Kris expressed that they were present primarily to back Lauren and their friends, stating, “It’s an incredible privilege for us to be here, supporting them and witnessing such a significant piece of history unfold.

She mentioned with great pride, “Each one of these girls has made me incredibly proud.” She further emphasized, “It takes a lot of courage for what they’ve done.

Concerning Khloe, she expressed that the flight was incredibly inspiring for her and mentioned being the mother of her 7-year-old daughter, True Thompson. When inquired if she and her mom would be considering this flight, Khloe hinted at the Blue Origin trip making it even more appealing during the launch event.

Established by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos in 2000, Blue Origin functions as a private space exploration enterprise based in Kent, Washington. As stated on their official site, the mission of this organization is to utilize space resources for Earth’s benefit while expanding human presence beyond our planet through enhanced transportation and the construction of habitable destinations in low Earth orbit.

Blue Origin is dedicated to achieving these objectives by developing reusable rockets and engines with the aim of lowering space travel costs, making it more affordable for civilians, and fostering sustainability. During a 2016 Pathfinder Awards talk, Bezos expressed their vision as “millions of people living and working in space.” He emphasized their focus on reducing the cost of access to space by focusing on reusability.

Interested individuals may wonder about the price for a Blue Origin flight seat, but the company does not publicly list these prices. However, it is noted that a deposit of $150,000 is required.

Named after astronaut Alan Shepard, who made history as the first American in space in 1961, Blue Origin refers to the New Shepard as a “completely reusable, suborbital rocket system designed for human travel.”

The pressurized crew capsule of New Shepard can accommodate six individuals. However, unlike traditional aircraft, it is pilotless since, as stated on their website, “The vehicle operates autonomously—there are no pilots.”

New Shepard made its debut in 2015 as part of a test flight program consisting of 16 successful launches, which were all completed by 2021.

In July of that year, New Shepard embarked on its inaugural human flight with Jeff Bezos and his brother Mark joining the crew. The highest bidder from an auction secured a seat for a staggering $28 million. William Shatner and Michael Strahan were among other passengers who boarded the vehicle later that year, though they were on different missions.

The upcoming mission will be New Shepard’s 31st overall (hence the name NS-31) and its 11th human spaceflight.

The New Shepard mission (NS-31) by Blue Origin is planning to take off from Launch Site One, nestled within the Guadalupe Mountain range of the West Texas desert, on April 14th. According to their website, the launch window starts at 8:30 a.m. in Central Daylight Time (CDT).

On Blue Origin’s website, it is mentioned that astronauts onboard New Shepard rockets climb swiftly, surpassing three times the velocity of sound. They then cross the Kármán line, a globally acknowledged space boundary located 62 miles (or 100 kilometers) above Earth. At this point, they release their seat belts to experience weightlessness and marvel at our planet. The journey concludes with a soft descent back to Earth under the guidance of parachutes, taking approximately 11 minutes in total.

The team for mission NS-31 includes singer Katy Perry, CBS Mornings host Gayle King, film producer Kerianne Flynn, STEMBoard founder and ex-NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist and activist Amanda Nguyen (who is also making history as the first Vietnamese woman in space), and former TV anchor Lauren Sánchez. Notably, this will be the first all-female spaceflight crew since 1963, when Valentina Tereshkova from the Soviet Union embarked on a solo mission, becoming the first woman to journey into space.

Nguyen is set to make history as the first Vietnamese woman to travel in space, while Bowe will be the first person of Bahamian descent to venture where few have gone before.

Each team member is driven by unique motivations for joining this mission. For instance, Perry wants to inspire her daughter Daisy, sharing a vision where dreams have no boundaries, regardless of one’s background, ethnicity, economic status, or educational level with Orlando Bloom. King, who openly admits her apprehensions, aims to encourage others to venture beyond their comfort zones. She asserts that her courage will pave the way for those who were hesitant but now eagerly embrace this opportunity. Lastly, Nguyen sees this mission as a chance to realize a long-deferred dream. After facing gender-based violence and dedicating a decade to fighting for sexual assault survivors’ rights, she yearns to reconnect with the aspirations she had before her ordeal.

As reported by Good Morning America, each team member is scheduled to make an early trip to the launch site prior to the mission. During this time, they’ll participate in training workshops where they’ll be tailor-fitted for their flight suits, become acquainted with the spacecraft, learn effective ways to communicate with ground control, and thoroughly review safety guidelines.

Prior to the mission, certain team members had taken independent steps to prepare themselves. Bowe, for instance, had been ramping up his training for over a year, culminating in intense sessions. He recently completed a NASTAR simulation, providing him with a taste of what he might encounter during the flight. For Bowe, physical readiness was crucial; he wanted his body to be familiar with the sensation of taking off. In addition, he’s looking forward to a scheduled fighter jet ride. Flynn too had undergone several zero-gravity simulation flights. She explained that these simulations involved modifying a Boeing 747 and flying it in a parabolic pattern so that when the plane descends, everyone experiences weightlessness. This was done to acclimate to the sensation of weightlessness. Flynn also participated in NASTAR training in Philadelphia and endured up to five Gs of pressure.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that passage like this:

“Here are some personal insights from our interviewees about their mission preparations.

Nancy Conrad, the wife of the third man to walk on the moon, Pete Conrad, is a guiding force and inspiration for me. She gave me the Apollo 12 flag, which I’ll be taking along with me, as she sees similarities between my journey and Pete’s. The Museum of Flight in Seattle graciously provided this historical artifact.

Additionally, I’m bringing plant samples from Winston-Salem State University’s Astrobotany Lab and dehydrated conch chowder as a tribute to the flavors of The Bahamas.

Nguyen is also thoughtfully choosing her personal belongings for the mission. She shared with ELLE that she will carry shells from the island where her mother is a refugee, reminding her of home. Moreover, there’s a promise she made to herself after overcoming adversity—a vow written on a piece of paper that she taped to her laptop during her hospital stay, graduation, and as she fought for her rights. This promise will accompany her on the flight.

Nguyen also mentioned on Instagram that she’ll be taking along the pen used by former president Barack Obama to sign the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Act, a Nguyen dynasty coin, and Freetown cotton tree seeds.

Stars have sent encouraging messages to the crew, with King receiving a farewell video from CBS Mornings that included Tom Hanks, Megan Rapinoe, Bill Nye, Drew Barrymore, among others. Drew Barrymore expressed her excitement to pick King’s brain once they return home.

Meanwhile, Olivia Munn has voiced criticism. On Today with Jenna & Friends on April 3, she questioned the purpose of the mission, stating that there are more pressing issues in the world currently. She also brought up the cost of space travel and mentioned that many people can’t even afford basic necessities like eggs.

Olivia Munn also expressed concerns about the mission being seen as an advertisement for Bezos and Blue Origin. However, King acknowledged the criticism but emphasized that this mission transcends one man and one company, arguing that it doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game where success in one area negates achievements in another.
