Law & Order: Organized Crime Star Christopher Meloni to Write Season 5 Episode

As a long-time fan of the Law & Order franchise, I must say that the news about Christopher Meloni writing an episode for Organized Crime and Mariska Hargitay’s appearance in it has me absolutely thrilled! It feels like a reunion of sorts, reminiscent of the good old days when Stabler and Benson were patrolling the streets together. I can’t help but imagine them bantering back and forth as they take down some nefarious criminals – a sight for sore eyes indeed!

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m pumped about the shift in gears for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5! Besides reprising my role as Elliot Stabler, I, Christopher Meloni, have stepped up to write the second episode of this season on Peacock. Previously aired on NBC, it’s an exciting move for us all! And here’s another cool fact: My buddy from Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay, will be making an appearance in the episode too! Can’t wait to share more about this incredible journey!

Meloni expressed that writing the episode was fantastic, but she felt a sense of responsibility and didn’t want to make any mistakes with it.

He added, “I know Benson will be with OC for a moment there.”

Previously, Hargitay herself hinted that she might still collaborate with Meloni, despite the shift in Organized Crime’s setting.

“I’ve been seriously considering it,” I shared with Variety about the possibility of a crossover. “Just yesterday, we bumped into each other at a gathering. It was magical! I had a chance to meet their showrunner. They’re keen on us collaborating, and Chris and I have been discussing it. The time seems right. We’ve been apart for too long in our respective universes. That’s why we’ve been having these conversations. But we’re thrilled at the prospect of returning to our worlds, ready to jump back into the action again.”

Law & Order: Organized Crime is Headed to Peacock

Earlier this year, it became known that the show will move to Peacock. According to Jeff Bader, President of Program Planning and Strategy at NBCUniversal Entertainment, one reason for this transition is the series’ impressive performance on streaming platforms.

Organized Crime has been extremely successful; this show is not one that was merely surviving. It excels universally and performs exceptionally well on streaming platforms. Moving Season 5 to Peacock represents a win-win situation for us, as 80% of its viewership doesn’t align with our scheduled airtime, instead it’s delayed viewing on Peacock, making the shift ideal in order to free up the time slot.”

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” is coming back for its fifth season on Peacock. Meanwhile, the original “Law & Order” series will be back for its 24th season, and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” will continue into its 26th season, both airing on NBC.
