Despite the influence of his departure on the show, it wasn’t significant enough to warrant his return. In contrast, Rollins’ exit was unique.

I strongly believe Amanda Rollins’ departure from Law & Order: SVU was an error, given her significant role within the show. After tying the knot with Carisi during season 24, prior to leaving the squad, she continued to make appearances as a guest star in subsequent seasons. Due to my close ties with the SVU team, I should never have parted ways in the first place. In contrast, they didn’t put up much of a fight when Stabler left, not making an effort to bring him back.

Rollins Brought A Unique Dynamic To The Team

Rollins plays a crucial role on Law & Order: SVU, not just as a Sergeant but as an integral part of the team. She’s grown beyond her professional connection with Carisi to become almost like family. Her departure has left a significant void, affecting not only her relationship with Carisi but also her bond with the rest of the squad. Moreover, her exit has been detrimental to the show because she is one of its top detectives and profilers. Her unique insights and contributions have made the team stronger, and bringing her back would help restore the show’s essence.

Although Stabler was an exceptional detective and contributed significantly to the team with his unique abilities, he never quite felt like a close-knit family member among them. The distance between him and the rest of the crew made everyone feel more like professional peers. When he left, it appeared as though departures were simply part of the job. On the other hand, Rollins’ exit from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit felt much more like losing a cherished family member.
