Leader’s Secret Identity Revealed in Captain America Movie

In a fresh sneak peek for “Captain America: Brave New World,” the enigmatic villain, Leader, is showcased, manipulating events behind the scenes in the upcoming Marvel film. Actor Tim Blake Nelson will reprise his role as Samuel Sterns / The Leader from 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk” within “Captain America: Brave New World.” Although we haven’t caught a glimpse of the Leader fully transformed in his iconic green, gamma form, trailers for the fourth Captain America movie hint at his mysterious presence. In the latest advertisement for the film, Leader is depicted orchestrating events to suit his desires.

The question being asked in a recent advertisement for “Captain America: Brave New World” is “Who is controlling whom?” Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) tries to warn President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (Harrison Ford) that his inner circle has been betrayed, as we witness an assault within the White House. Later, Sam queries, “Who’s orchestrating this?” as Leader’s voice is heard. “Have you ever pondered? Who’s playing who?” A series of rapid scenes are shown to the audience, building up to a confrontation between Captain America and Red Hulk.

In the movie “Captain America: Brave New World,” Tim Blake Nelson portrays Samuel Stern, better known as The Leader. He was one of the original cast members when the film’s title, initially “Captain America: New World Order,” was first unveiled in 2022. Previously, The Leader has been kept under wraps during the promotional campaign for “Captain America: Brave New World.” However, Nelson has shared insights about how The Leader will adopt a look true to the comics in this film.

When inquired about potentially reprising his role as Samuel Sterns/The Leader in “Captain America: Brave New World” last March, Nelson shared his enthusiasm. He said, “I’m really excited about it. I had a fantastic time during filming.” Adding, “I worked with the Marvel team and this exceptional makeup artist named David Atherton, with whom I’ve collaborated on over a dozen films now.

He expressed that the public is likely going to be quite thrilled with this individual’s appearance, his words, and his actions. He also praised the incredible Marvel team. Although Nelson didn’t specifically mention it, it seems reasonable to assume that his character might end up with a large head and green skin based on his comments.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters on February 14th.
