Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered Pre-orders “Much Stronger Than Expected”, per Embracer

As a gamer who’s been around since the dawn of time (or at least the 90s), I can tell you that the gaming universe has never looked brighter. With the upcoming release of “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered“, it seems like Santa Claus himself is delivering an early Christmas present to all us gamers.

As the end of the year approaches, December promises some of the most significant releases in recent memory. On the schedule are games like Marvel Rivals, Path of Exile 2’s early access, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Infinity Nikki, among others. Moreover, Aspyr’s remastered versions of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 have been added to this exciting lineup. Pre-orders for these games under Embracer Group (their parent company) are performing exceptionally well, surpassing initial expectations.

During the Q2 fiscal year 2025 interim report (ending September 30th), CEO Lars Wingefors announced that the pre-orders for the “Legacy of Kain”, specifically the remastered versions of “Soul Reaver 1 and 2”, have been significantly stronger than anticipated.

For enthusiasts who have longed for a follow-up in the form of a sequel, reboot, reimagining, remaster, or similar, this news comes as a delight. The remaster doesn’t merely enhance the visuals of the two initial titles; it significantly overhauls the looks of numerous boss characters, such as Melchiah, Rahab, Dumah, and Kain. Additional features like a Map and Compass (which can be deactivated) to aid players in navigation, along with a progress tracker for monitoring health and energy upgrades, have also been incorporated into the gameplay experience.

On December 10th, the remastered versions of “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2” will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, priced at $29.99 each.
