Enthusiasts of LEGO’s Nintendo-themed collections are in store for a joyful August. A series of fresh sets, based on the Super Mario and Animal Crossing universes, have surfaced online prior to an official unveiling. The upcoming Mario assortment will showcase designs influenced by games like “Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” “Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker,” and “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” while the Animal Crossing series continues to pull inspiration from “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.” Regrettably, the pricing details for these sets are still under wraps; however, we can hope that LEGO will share more information soon.
Among the fresh Animal Crossing lineups, Blathers’ Museum Collection seems particularly appealing. This collection isn’t just about Blathers the museum curator, but it also includes a LEGO model of a triceratops fossil. Another captivating set is Wario and King Boo, as it signifies the first time Wario has been rendered in LEGO form. For those without LEGO’s interactive Mario, there’s a set offering a figure of Mario alongside a kart that plays compatible sounds. Snapshots of these new sets were posted by Wario64 on Bluesky, and you can find them in the embedded post below.

Given that all these images appear to be authentic, we can expect an official announcement soon, or perhaps preorders will become available on LEGO’s official site and other retailers such as Amazon. Here’s hoping the company won’t delay too much longer, because there seems to be a lot to appreciate here, and it would be great to learn the pricing details.
A number of the newly revealed LEGO sets cater to fans of Nintendo across all age groups. For enthusiasts who prefer collections targeted at mature collectors, there’s plenty to look forward to in the year 2025. Coming up later this month, LEGO will debut a Mario Kart set consisting of 1,972 pieces, priced at $169.99. Unlike previous Mario Kart sets, this one appears to be more intended for display rather than play. In October, LEGO plans to release another set modeled after the original Game Boy. As of now, Nintendo and LEGO have only announced the upcoming set, but not yet revealed its final design.
As the anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2 draws near in June, it’s intriguing to speculate when LEGO might introduce sets inspired by games for this new platform. Considering the popularity of characters like the cow from Mario Kart World, it seems likely that many enthusiasts would eagerly preorder such a set. Similarly, Donkey Kong Bananza appears ripe for adaptation into a LEGO set due to its diverse cast of new adversaries and sidekicks. For now, Nintendo fans will have to exercise their patience as we wait for upcoming announcements!
