As a devoted movie reviewer, I must say that the recently unveiled LEGO set for the iconic Fantastic Four (FF) has made an intriguing design decision regarding Reed Richards. Until this year, the Danish toymaker had never manufactured a physical product based on Marvel’s First Family, although the FF have graced numerous LEGO Marvel video games. With the upcoming release of MCU’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny have now been brought to life in the form of colorful plastic bricks.
Images showing the potential first and potentially only LEGO tie-in merchandise for The Fantastic Four: First Steps have popped up online. On Saturday, April 26th, X user captaincupkicks posted a picture of the “Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure” set, which features an unexpectedly designed Minifigure of Reed Richards.
The mini figure representing the model is equipped with humorously elongated leg sections, constructed by adding two longer LEGO blocks.
In the movie “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” Pedro Pascal plays the character Reed Richards, who is famous for his extraordinary ability to elongate his physical form to immense lengths. LEGO creatively demonstrated this superpower by offering consumers an optional extension of longer, brick-built legs and feet that they could attach to the base Minifigure. This addition, while amusing, showcases Reed’s unique abilities in a fun and engaging way.
As per the Instagram account bighugebricks, the LEGO construction figure of “The Fantastic Four vs. Galactus” is expected to hit the shelves with a price tag of $60, starting from June. This particular LEGO item is noteworthy as it offers a complete sneak peek at Galactus’ design in upcoming films.
As a passionate movie critic, I recently stumbled upon an intriguing sneak peek from Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) on Instagram. A captivating image was shared, revealing the backside of a forthcoming product’s packaging, granting us a closer inspection of its engaging play features. Particularly noteworthy is the Galactus figure, sporting an armor design that mirrors Ralph Ineson’s comic-book counterpart. What caught my eye, however, was the figure’s apparent full articulation, hinting at a level of detail and interactive potential that promises to deliver an immersive experience for MCU fans like myself.
2025 can’t come soon enough for me as I eagerly anticipate the Marvel Studios‘ release of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in cinemas. Alongside Pedro Pascal and Ralph Ineson, I’m thrilled to see Vanessa Kirby stepping into Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach becoming Ben Grimm, Joseph Quinn taking on Johnny Storm, and Julia Garner gracing the screen as Silver Surfer. It promises to be an incredible journey!
Marvel Plays Coy on Reed Richards’ Powers
Marvel has been rather cryptic about how they’ll portray Mister Fantastic’s elasticity. The initial teaser trailer for the film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, released in February 2025, didn’t include any scenes of Reed Richards using his powers. However, the full trailer for “The Fantastic Four” (released in April 2025) contained a solitary shot of Reed stretching while plummeting from a building.
LEGO’s Reed Minifigure symbolizes one of the initial instances where the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Reed has been depicted elongating (take a look at another glimpse of Reed Richards’ powers here). The completed movie is expected to feature numerous scenes displaying this hero manipulating his body in diverse manners. Yet, Marvel enthusiasts will need to watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps when it hits theaters to witness more of this portrayal of Reed Richards.
