LEGO Super Mario World Set Leaked Online

As a long-time gamer with fond memories of my childhood spent exploring the magical worlds of Nintendo, I can’t help but feel excited about the latest LEGO sets inspired by some of their classic games. The upcoming LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set is a dream come true for me, as it brings back memories of playing Super Mario World on my Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1991.

A recently leaked LEGO set, the Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi (1215 pieces), is slated for release on October 1st. According to Jay’s Brick Blog, this set pays homage to a beloved Mario game and includes a pixel-designed Mario riding atop Yoshi. An added feature is a small crank that enables Yoshi to extend its tongue. At present, the price for this set has yet to be disclosed by LEGO, though an official announcement is anticipated soon.

In 1991, Nintendo released both the Super Nintendo system and “Super Mario World” as its flagship game. This title built upon earlier Mario concepts while introducing new power-ups, characters, and most notably, the first Yoshis. Fast forward to today, LEGO has been creating Mario-themed sets for some time, primarily based on newer games such as “New Super Mario Bros. U” and “Super Mario 3D World.” However, this new set, titled “Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi,” appears to cater to older collectors rather than the all-ages audience typically targeted by LEGO’s Mario offerings.

There’s more than one new Nintendo product intended for an older audience on the horizon. In May, LEGO unveiled a Zelda-themed set with a unique 2-in-1 construction. This design lets builders recreate the Great Deku Tree from either “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” or “Breath of the Wild.” The set comes complete with four minifigures: Young Link and Adult Link from “OoT,” as well as Link and Zelda from “BotW.” Set to be released on September 1st, the price tag is $299.99. With the Zelda set dropping only a month prior to the Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi release, it seems Nintendo enthusiasts are in for an exciting (and costly) autumn!
