As a seasoned researcher with hands that have spent countless hours gaming, I find the potential redesign of the Legion Go handheld controllers to be most welcome news. In our review of the original device, I vividly remember discussing the bulkiness of its controllers and even my tall husband with large hands found them uncomfortable. So, if these rumors are true, this sleeker, more rounded design could make a significant difference in the gaming experience for many users.
2025 looks set to bring an abundance of new gaming handheld reveals, and our very own Jez Corden has been the first to share images of the Legion Go S, right here at Windows Central. However, today we got a sneak peek from Evan Blass on platform X, hinting at another unannounced Legion Go device (Thanks, The Verge) – it could possibly be the much-anticipated Legion Go 2 model.
I’ve sent over a picture of the Legion Go S up top for comparison purposes, so you can easily spot the distinctions it has compared to the device Evan Blass talked about.
From our current understanding, we’re still waiting for detailed specifications about both versions of the Legion Go handhelds. What appears clear is that the black model sports an OLED screen, maintaining the detachable controller design similar to the original Legion Go. Interestingly, the images leaked so far suggest a change in the design of the controllers, making them appear less angular and more rounded.
I am thrilled about this update as it addresses an issue I mentioned in our Legion Go review. In that review, I pointed out that the original device’s controllers were quite large and cumbersome. Even my tall husband with large hands found them uncomfortable. Here’s hoping the new, more streamlined design offers a more comfortable grip experience.
