Images from the set reveal that Liam Hemsworth has resumed his role as Geralt of Rivia for the upcoming fifth and last season. These fresh shots were released approximately three years since Hemsworth took over the beloved fantasy character from Henry Cavill.
According to a recent update, images from the filming of the Netflix series have surfaced, displaying Chris Hemsworth assuming the role of Geralt in a brief pause during production. In the upcoming fourth and fifth seasons of “The Witcher,” we’ll explore the last three novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski: “Baptism of Fire,” “The Tower of the Swallow,” and “The Lady of the Lake.” Although Hemsworth and Fishburne are joining the fantasy series for the first time, some familiar faces from the Cavill era will return for the final two seasons, with Freya Allan reprising her role as Ciri. In a statement made in May 2024, Allan expressed support for the newcomer playing Geralt, saying, “I genuinely feel sorry for him because the fan base can be quite critical, and it’s not easy stepping into someone else’s shoes. But I’m really eager to see his performance.
The actor added, “He’s truly a wonderful individual. I can only wish for him to be noticed by others.” However, it’s been announced that Hemsworth’s portrayal of Geralt in Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ will only span across two seasons, as the fantasy series is not expected to extend beyond its fifth season.
