Liam Neeson retires …..

As a movie enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of cinematic greatness, I can’t help but feel a tinge of melancholy hearing about Liam Neeson‘s potential retirement from action films. With a career that spans over four decades and includes masterpieces like Schindler’s List and Gangs of New York, it’s hard to believe the era of Bryan Mills might soon come to an end.

Before 2008, Liam Neeson was well-known for his roles in heavyweight movies like Schindler’s List, Gangs of New York, Michael Collins, The Mission, and The Bounty. However, in 2008, he made a transition to action films with ‘Taken’, which led to two sequels and a continued career in action movies. Now, Liam Neeson has decided to step away from action films.

In a recent magazine interview, he stated, “Given that I’m 72, it’s reasonable to expect that I’ll eventually have to retire,” and he emphasized, “I can’t keep relying on Mark Vanselow, my stuntman, to perform my action scenes for me.” Although he hasn’t specified an exact date, he hinted at potentially retiring from action movies as early as late 2025, expressing, “Perhaps by the end of next year. I believe that will be it.

After completing the reboot of “The Naked Gun,” which is set for summer 2025 release following post-production, Liam Neeson’s upcoming films will primarily be action-oriented. However, there are a few exceptions. His next film, titled “Absolution, ” opens in theaters on November 1. This movie tells the story of an aging gangster trying to rebuild relationships with his children and rectify past wrongs. Subsequently, Neeson will star in “The Mongoose” on Prime Video. In this role, he portrays Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a decorated war hero falsely accused of a crime, who embarks on an epic cross-country car chase, aided by his former Special Forces Army battalion members and followed closely by a captivated public hoping for his successful escape.

There’s no truth to the rumors that if any producer offers him another action movie, Liam Neeson would track them down and confront them. Contrary to speculation, he won’t be quitting action films for a nursing home (as suggested by ‘You’re fired! – ed), at least not anytime soon.
