As a die-hard fan of Liam Payne since his days in One Direction, I am absolutely heartbroken to hear about his untimely passing. The news has left me stunned and saddened, like a fan whose favorite band just broke up all over again.

Liam Payne‘s midnight memories will forever live on.

On October 16, former member of One Direction passed away following a fall from a third-story hotel balcony in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. This information was confirmed by the Sistema de Atencion Medica de Emergencia to Telemundo. He was 31 years old.

Previously, Payne was touring Buenos Aires (the Argentine capital) with his partner Kate Cassidy. It was reported that Cassidy had gone back to the United States just before the demise of the artist who is famous for “Strip That Down.

After his demise, stars worldwide paid their respects by posting tributes on social media platforms. These heartfelt messages were not only for the departed singer but also extended to his close friends and family, such as his 7-year-old son Bear Grey Payne, who he shared with his ex, Cheryl Cole.

Charlie Puth, who collaborated on the late artist’s 2017 single “Bedroom Floor”, expressed on his Instagram that Liam had always been incredibly kind to him. He recalled that Liam was among the first significant artists he had the privilege to work with, and he couldn’t fathom that this talented individual is no longer with us.

In the meantime, Paris Hilton posted on the platform that was once known as Twitter, expressing her sadness with the words, “It’s so disheartening to learn about Liam Payne’s passing. My thoughts and sympathies are with his family and those close to him.

Payne initially made his mark in the music world back in 2010, when he joined One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik on the British edition of The X Factor. Despite finishing in third place on the show, their 2011 single “What Makes You Beautiful” from their debut album Up All Night catapulted them into global stardom.

From 2016 onwards, he continued with the group until it dissolved after Malik left to focus on his individual endeavors and embark on a solo path.

Nevertheless, Payne continued to keep in touch with his old band members. Recently, he reconnected with Tomlinson during the London premiere of his friend’s documentary titled “All of the Voice.

On October 2nd, Payne joined the throng of spectators, cheering for Horan during his main act at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires.

In a 2023 interview with On Demand Entertainment, Payne confided that he had experienced a difficult and challenging phase in his life. He went on to say that, honestly, it was his friends who helped him get through it and are the reason he is still around today.
