Liam Payne Death: Man Arrested on Suspicion of Supplying Singer Drugs

As a seasoned observer of human nature and a student of life’s complexities, I find myself deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Liam Payne. Having lived through my own share of trials and tribulations, I can empathize with the pain that his loved ones must be experiencing right now.

Liam was a shining star who captured the hearts of millions around the world as a member of One Direction. His infectious smile, captivating voice, and undeniable charisma made him an icon for young and old alike. But beyond the glitz and glamour, he was a human being with dreams, fears, and vulnerabilities, just like the rest of us.

His life story serves as a poignant reminder that fame and fortune do not guarantee happiness or immunity from personal struggles. It is often the case that those who are in the public eye are subject to immense pressure and scrutiny, and it’s essential we remember that they too have moments of darkness and despair.

In times like these, I find solace in laughter, so let me share a little joke to lighten the mood: Why don’t musicians ever play cards on the road? Because they’re afraid they might get a flat beat!

May Liam’s memory be a blessing to his loved ones and may his spirit continue to inspire generations to come. Let us use this tragic loss as an opportunity to reflect on our own lives, cherish our loved ones, and extend compassion to those who are suffering in silence. Rest in peace, Liam.

More light has been shed on those being held accountable for Liam Payne’s passing.

A few days have passed since five individuals were indicted regarding a fatal fall experienced by an ex-member of One Direction from his Buenos Aires hotel, and now, one person has been taken into custody.

On January 3rd, Braian Paiz, allegedly involved in distributing cocaine to Payne, was apprehended by the Argentinian authorities. This information was shared by CBS News, and later, Paiz’s legal representative confirmed that he had been taken into custody.

TopMob News has reached out to the Argentina Police for comment and has not heard back.

Based on a press release from Argentina’s prosecutor’s office on December 30, it was announced that a waiter (BNP), a hotel employee (EDP), and others were accused of drug trafficking, while the hotel manager (GAM), the hotel receptionist (ERG), and an individual representing Payne (RLN) were charged with involuntary manslaughter. This release was translated from Spanish to English.

In addition to Paiz, the BBC reports, according to the prosecutor’s office, that the defendants in question are Gilda Martin, Esteban Grassi, Roger Nores, and Ezequiel Pereyra.

According to the statement, it is alleged that Paiz repeatedly supplied Payne (who had traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system as shown by a November 7 toxicology report) with cocaine while he was staying there for payment. The waiter claimed in the press release that he did so because he wanted to spend time with the 31-year-old.

Nonetheless, Judge Laura Bruniard from the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 34, who handled the case on December 27, concurred with the prosecution’s assertion that Paiz’s actions were driven primarily by financial reasons.

In this situation, it was demonstrated that Liam James Payne received cocaine from both EDP and BNP, in return for cash.

In case they are declared guilty, it’s possible that Paiz and Pereyra might serve a prison term ranging from four to 15 years. According to the statement, both individuals have been placed under preventive custody, and assets worth approximately five million pesos have been confiscated from them.

Bruniard disclosed her research findings, stating that both the hotel manager and receptionist were in the lobby prior to Payne’s demise, and they observed his state of health. Moreover, she emphasized that the singer was “incapable of self-care” on the day he passed away. The judge then highlighted CCTV footage showing him being “escorted by three individuals” from the lobby to his hotel room, which had a balcony.

She stated, “His treatment indicated a state of vulnerability.” In that particular room, there was a balcony and Payne appeared to be in an altered state of consciousness. It was prudent to ensure his safety by placing him under the care of others until a physician could be summoned. On that specific day, the hotel staff members who shouldered the responsibility were the manager, GAM, and the head receptionist, ERG.

Concerning Nores, Bruniard stated that “he stands accountable for negligent manslaughter since he took on a guarantor role before the family of the victim, implying responsibility for the incident.

She mentioned that he was at the hotel approximately 50 minutes before the incident when Payne (who succumbed to multiple injuries and bleeding inside and outside his body following his fall on October 16) fell. Furthermore, she expressed her doubts about whether the rest of the hotel staff would respond suitably under the circumstances.

In her presentation of her thesis, Bruniard made it clear that she did not think the trio had intentionally planned for or desired Payne’s demise.

She clarified that they hadn’t anticipated the consequences, but they had unlawfully taken a risk, as M., in his capacity as manager, permitted Payne to go to room 310. Similarly, G. did this by organizing the group of people who escorted Payne to the specified room.

Regarding representative N., it would have been prudent for him to seek medical attention, considering his promise to the bereaved family. It’s important to note that he shouldn’t have solely depended on the hotel staff for assistance in this matter.

On his end, Norse asserted no participation in Payne’s demise, stating to the Daily Mail in November, “I didn’t leave him behind.

He stated, “On that particular day, I visited his hotel not once, but three times. Thirty-four minutes prior to the incident, I departed. At the time of my departure, there were more than fifteen individuals in the lobby, socializing and joking with him. I never would have thought something as terrible as this could occur.

Read on for a full breakdown of the investigation surrounding the One Direction star’s death.

On October 16, 2024, it was reported by Telemundo that Liam Payne passed away at the age of 31, a fact confirmed by Argentina’s Emergency Medical Care System (SAME).

On October 17th, it was reported by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14 (translated from Spanish) that the singer died after falling from a third-story hotel balcony in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires where he had been staying. The autopsy revealed that Payne passed away due to multiple injuries and internal and external bleeding caused by the fall.

Although the circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated as ‘doubtful’ (meaning there is no clear cause), it appears that the musician was alone when the incident occurred, and may have been experiencing a relapse due to substance abuse issues. Previously, Payne had publicly discussed his struggle with sobriety, stating in a July 2023 YouTube video that he had attended treatment for approximately 100 days and had abstained from alcohol for about six months.

Based on the statement, it’s been reported that 25 injuries consistent with those from a fall were found during Payne’s autopsy. The head injuries alone were severe enough to cause his death, while various internal and external hemorrhages in the skull, chest, abdomen, and limbs contributed to his demise.

No defensive wounds or signs of third-party involvement were discovered on the former One Direction member. However, questions arose regarding Payne’s condition at the time of the fall. The prosecution suggested that due to the position of the body and the fall injuries, it is presumed that Payne did not try to protect himself and might have fallen into a state of semi- or total unconsciousness.

Medical examiners are seeking further answers by conducting histopathological, biochemical, and toxicological studies. At this stage, they required analysis of the stomach contents, alcohol and toxins in the blood, vitreous humor, bile, nasal swab, and urine for the detection of alcohol and toxins.

A preliminary toxicology report indicated that Payne had drugs in his system at the time of his death, as confirmed by an official who spoke to The New York Times.

According to a press release by Argentina’s public prosecutor on November 7th, toxicology tests showed that he had traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant in his system.

The authorities do not consider his death a suicide, as suggested by a press release on November 7th from Argentina’s public prosecutor. They believe that he may have been unconscious or unaware of his actions when he fell, which implies he did not intentionally harm himself because, in his condition, he didn’t know what he was doing nor could he comprehend it. Furthermore, Judge Laura Bruniard of the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 34 added on December 30th that it’s plausible that, due to Payne’s state, he might have tried to exit his room from the balcony and ended up falling.

According to the police report released on Oct. 17, it appears that Payne fell from the balcony of his third-floor room at CasaSur Palermo hotel around 5:07 p.m. local time. Earlier, the hotel had contacted emergency services for help regarding a guest who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and had damaged some items in the room.

When officers from the 14B Neighborhood Police Station of the City Police arrived at the scene, Payne had already fallen and died due to the extent of his injuries. The police found substances that appeared to be narcotics and alcoholic drinks in the room, though they needed confirmation from experts. There were also several broken items and furniture in the room.

Authorities gathered testimonies from five people – three hotel staff members and two women who had been with Payne in his room prior to his fall, but had left the hotel at the time of the incident. They are investigating not only the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death, but also examining the potential role of third parties in the events leading up to his death.

In an emergency phone call made to authorities, a hotel staff member requested help due to a guest who was heavily under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The guest had been damaging property in his room. The staff member requested immediate assistance, stating they were unsure if the guest posed a risk to himself or others. The guest was staying in a room with a balcony, which caused concern as they feared he might harm himself seriously. The staff member did not mention Payne by name in the call; NBC News attempted to contact Payne’s representative for comment but did not receive a response.

On November 7th, Argentina’s public prosecutor revealed that three individuals have been indicted for alleged illegal activities, as stated in a press release translated from Spanish. The main defendant is the person who was with the artist every day while he was in Buenos Aires and has been charged with the crimes of abandonment resulting in death. The second suspect is an employee at the hotel where Liam Payne stayed, who will need to respond to two confirmed instances of supplying cocaine during his stay. The third individual, also a drug supplier, faces charges for two other clear instances of drug dealing on October 14th.

Initially, it was thought that no one was held responsible in the case. However, further investigation led to the charging of five individuals: Gilda Martin, Esteban Grassi, Roger Nores (who was not Payne’s manager as previously believed), Ezequiel Pereyra, and Braian Paiz. The charges against them include negligent homicide for GAM, ERG, and RLN, drug supply for EDP and BNP. The Argentine prosecutor’s office press release on Dec. 30 revealed these details.

According to a statement released by the prosecutor’s office on November 7th, a comprehensive and thorough investigation was conducted into the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death. This included obtaining numerous testimonies from hotel staff, family members, friends, medical professionals, biochemists, and psychiatrists. Furthermore, over 800 hours of video footage from security cameras within the hotel and public roads were analyzed.

The investigation also involved the forensic extraction of Payne’s cell phone data, which allowed for an analysis of his calls, messages, chats on messaging apps, and social media activity. In addition, data from other cell phones, such as those belonging to hotel staff and witnesses, were obtained and scrutinized.

Other information examined during the investigation included a record of guests and orders at the hotel bar/restaurant to identify who visited Payne and what they consumed. Furthermore, nine searches were carried out at homes in Buenos Aires as part of the probe.

Moving forward, it’s crucial to mention that while I’ve shared some insights from our recent findings on November 7th, the investigation remains ongoing. This is due to several key tasks that need to be completed, such as repairing and accessing a broken personal netbook belonging to the victim, as well as other devices that were confiscated during the investigation, which are all still under process.

As a devoted follower, I’ve been sharing my journey of vacationing in Argentina with my partner, Kate Cassidy. Our experiences, from our hearty breakfasts to horse-riding plans and beautiful days in Argentina, were documented and shared on Snapchat. On the day of my untimely demise, a snapshot of Kate and me, both in our swimsuits, was the last image I posted.

Kate had announced her return to Florida to be with our beloved dog, Nala, while I stayed behind in Argentina. The details about our time together were captured by NBC News from the Snapchat account of the artist behind “Strip That Down.

Cassidy expressed her eagerness to depart in a TikTok video posted on October 14th, during which she was returning to the U.S. She confessed that while she adores South America, she dislikes staying in one spot for an extended period. What was initially planned as a five-day stay had extended to two weeks, prompting her to feel the need to return home.

Following Payne’s demise, Cassidy articulated how she felt utterly bewildered and that the past few days didn’t seem real.

In part of an Instagram post dated October 18th, she penned, “My dear Liam, you are everything. I want you to know I loved you without condition and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam.

Following Liam Payne’s passing, the bandmates from One Direction, namely Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan, expressed their deep sorrow. In a joint statement on Instagram posted on October 17th, they wrote, “We are utterly devastated by Liam’s demise. With time, we will share more thoughts, but for now, we need to grieve and come to terms with the loss of our cherished brother.”

One Direction was formed on The X Factor in 2010 and attained immense popularity before disbanding in 2015.

The memories we shared with him will forever be treasured,” Styles, Malik, Tomlinson, and Horan added. “At the moment, our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans who adored him as much as we did. We will miss him dearly.”

Beyond the group’s statement, each singer released personal tributes. Niall Horan, who hosted a concert in Buenos Aires on October 2nd where Payne was present, wrote on Instagram on October 18th, “The bond and friendship we had is not something that happens frequently in a lifetime… I feel fortunate to have seen him recently. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize then that our goodbye would be forever. It’s heartbreaking.”

Zayn Malik also announced the postponement of the U.S. leg of his tour due to “the heart-wrenching loss we’ve endured this week.”

Numerous celebrities, family members, and friends have paid tribute to Payne (read their tributes here).
