During Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event in February 2025, the game Lies of P suddenly popped up to reveal a fresh DLC expansion titled “Lies of P: Overture.” This exciting addition is scheduled to release this coming summer on platforms like Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam.
In this upcoming DLC, players will journey back in time for a prequel storyline. They’ll experience harrowing events that set the stage for the main game and unearth unsettling, bone-chilling mysteries.
In the game titled “Lies of P,” you take on the role of ‘P,’ a robot puppet brought to life by the brilliant inventor Geppetto. Your mission in this Soulslike action-RPG is twofold: first, to quell the chaos caused by rogue puppets plaguing the city of Krat; second, to combat the Petrification Disease that threatens its survival.
In Lies of P: Overture, you’ll uncover the sequence of events that resulted in Krat’s downfall, aided by an enigmatic artifact capable of time travel. This takes you to a period when Krat was basking in its golden age’s twilight. Yet, your trip through time will be no less perilous than the present, as you encounter ruthless assassins with supernatural abilities, relentless automatons, and abominable monstrosities that defy the holy.
Luckily, Lies of P: Overture offers an array of fresh weaponry, tools, and skills that players can utilize during combat, enhancing their chances of enduring the ordeals to come while exploring Krat’s troubled past.
Furthermore, Lies of P: Overture hints that the choices you make within the narrative of this expansion may echo through the main game with far-reaching consequences.
This game has got no strings to hold it down
It slipped my mind that Neowiz had confirmed they were developing DLC for Lies of P in 2023, so I was pleasantly surprised by the recent announcement. Lies of P was an exceptional game, with a quality comparable to FromSoftware’s Soulslikes like Elden Ring and Dark Souls. Its atmospheric setting, diverse character customization, and challenging yet rewarding combat were all top-notch.
I’m eagerly anticipating diving once more into NEOWIZ’s dark, Soulslike take on Pinocchio, and discovering the fresh horrors in the form of bizarre, terrifying creatures that I’ll encounter in Lies of P: Overture.
