Similar to the original version, Lies of P: Overture offers an opportunity to gather various musical items known as Records. You can enjoy these by unlocking the “Echoes of the Past” award or achievement.
In the Overture DLC, a total of 8 fresh records have been discovered. Just as in the main game, many of these are granted as rewards for completing quests. Additionally, they’re predominantly piano arrangements of tracks from the DJMAX series of rhythm games, which is an excellent nod to the developer’s background. Isn’t it?
Continue reading as we embark on the journey of gathering these fresh 8 records! Just a heads up, you might encounter some spoilers related to upcoming quests along the way.
All Record Locations for Memory’s Melody Trophy | Lies Of P: Overture
Lisrim
Let’s begin by finding the earliest clue available in the DLC. You can find this clue by speaking with Rosaura near the Carnival Garden Stargazer. This takes place in Overture Chapter 1, so it’s quite early on! If you chat with her about her missing shoes, she will ask for your help to retrieve them.
In order to obtain the shoes, you’ll essentially have to take a ride on the Ferris wheel at the fairground, as that will take you to a platform up top where the carousel is located. That’s where you can find the shoes. For comprehensive instructions on how to get there, please refer to our guide on locating Rosaura’s shoes.
I’d be more than happy to return the shoes to Rosaura, knowing full well that she’ll bestow upon me the coveted Lisrim Record, not forgetting the precious piece of a Drawing that is part of her treasure!
The Clear Blue Sky
To accomplish this task, you should first ensure that you haven’t completed Overture yet. Then, travel to the Zoo Tram Station called Stargazer. You can find it within Chapter 1 of Overture, after passing through the carnival area. Once there, locate a woman in a wheelchair named Goddard and have a chat with her.
When you first encounter Goddard, she’ll request that you get a “picture” situated near her easel. This artwork, as it happens, is just an empty canvas, located beside the railing of the tram station. Once you’ve picked it up, engage with Goddard once more.
“If presented with a dialogue option, choose ‘Wow, this is truly masterful artwork.’ However, remember it’s a false statement, so maintain honesty if you’re opting for a truthful gameplay.
Goddard’s Art Supplies
Afterward, you should head over to Goddard’s Art Supplies. The best way to locate it is by beginning from the Elixir Research Zone Stargazer, which can be found in Overture Chapter 2.
Go straight from the Stargazer and go through the first two open cell doors.
Then, when you reach a large room, take your first right possible.
Directly ahead of you, there’s a table with an operating table nearby. On the table, a blue object is emitting a soft glow. Lift this glowing object to gain your Goddard’s Art Supplies.
Head back to Goddard at the Zoo Tr tram stop now and hand over the art materials to her. She’ll be incredibly grateful and will reward you with a Dim Ergo Chunk.
Finishing Goddard’s Quest
To proceed further, all you have to do is advance the primary plot of Overture up until you conquer Lumacchio in Chapter 4 of Overture. The method you choose to handle him doesn’t matter; just make sure he’s defeated and then return to Goddard at the Zoo Tram Station once more.
As a gamer, I’ll engage with Goddard this round to grab the Painter’s Sky artifact and the “To the One Hidden in Shadows” correspondence tucked away in my inventory. Reading that letter will provide some resolution for the quest, and in return, I’ll obtain The Clear Blue Sky Log.
Nightmare
Just like the previous record, Nightmare is linked to a kind of mission. However, it’s important to note that this can only be accomplished before you complete Overture! To begin, carry on as usual through the Ancient Ruins Excavation Site during Chapter 3 of Overture. Eventually, you’ll come across a wooden bridge going downhill; when you do, turn left instead.
Upon stepping into that cave, a mechanical voice will address you, initiating conversation with a Crusher Puppet nearby, which kicks off the quest.
After that, make your way to Chapter 3 of Overture, and continue until you find the Ergo Mining Site Stargazer. You’ll need to utilize a traveling platform to advance through this section. Once you do so, follow the path to your right to hear the Crusher Puppet summoning you once more.
Go past the crates and follow the tracks going up to reach the puppet.
Talk to the Crusher Puppet once again.
After talking, take the exit next to the Crusher Puppet to return to the main path of the level.
After exiting the cave, veer towards your right and proceed along the wooden bridge that spans a short distance.
Or alternatively,
Leaving the cave behind, head in the direction of your right side, and keep moving until you cross over a small wooden bridge.
Following this path, I’ll guide you to a subsequent, extended wooden bridge. Stride across it to access the following part of the cave system.
Upon stepping into the cave, you’ll notice a Crusher Puppet beckoning from your left. Engage in conversation with it and pay attention to what it shares for guidance on your journey ahead.
The Brain in a Vat
In the last stage, locate the character named Pistris Harbor Stargazer within Overture Chapter 3. Descend to the large platform he’s on, then search for a wooden walkway. Proceed along this walkway.
In that location, you’ll encounter a mind-in-a-vat character who needs your assistance. To complete the mission, simply opt for “Helping him”. Upon successful completion, you will be granted the Nightmare Record as a token of achievement.
SURVIVOR
Once you’ve finished all the given steps, a question from The Tracker will pop up. It is crucial to pick the dialogue choice that says “They will be, and Krat will be saved.” This might seem like a lie, but choosing this option is necessary for earning the SURVIVOR Record.
Keep in mind that some players might not get the SURVIVOR reward despite following the correct steps. We’re unsure of the exact reason behind this issue, but it seems to be a glitch or error. Regrettably, we don’t have any solutions if you encounter this problem yourself. If possible, save your progress before completing the quest, so you can try again later.
SURVIVOR (Red)
In the Overture DLC, this is the last regular record you can obtain, but it won’t be accessible until you finish the DLC. Once the credits for the DLC have rolled, return to Eventide Hotel Krat. There, you will notice some white butterflies drawing patterns. Follow the butterfly that ascends the stairs.
As a gamer, I followed the vibrant butterfly through the game world towards the resplendent Golden Tree. It guided me to an imposing iron gate that seemed almost impassable. But luckily, I had a key – one earned from vanquishing the final boss in a fierce battle. With this key, I managed to unlock the gate and step into the mysterious room that lay hidden behind it.
On that table, you’ll spot Lea’s Memories as well as the Memento of Halcyon Days. To gain the SURVIVOR (Red) Record, take a moment to thoroughly review Lea’s Recollections in your inventory.
The Clear Blue Sky (Gold) – New Game+ Only
You can buy this record at the vendor located next to the Carnival Garden Stargazer. To find him, simply walk towards the carousel and veer left. Look for a wooden platform you can descend from, which will bring you directly in front of his stall.
This particular record is priced at 9000 Ergo, as stated in the title, and can exclusively be obtained within the New Game+ mode. To clarify, if you wish to acquire all Records and the Memory’s Melody trophy in Lies of P: Overture, you will require a save file from a New Game+ session.
In other words, it appears that the New Game+ option is associated with the initial game, rather than Overture independently. This means that if you’ve already initiated New Game+ in the original game, then this new record should be available for purchase during your first playthrough of Overture without needing to replay Overture twice.
Nightmare (Gold) – New Game+ Only
You’ll be able to acquire this Gold Record from Klaus at the Eventide Hotel Krat. He begins selling it once you deliver him the Luxury Bag, hidden near the Elixir Research Zone Stargazer in Overture Chapter 2. It will cost you 1 Ancient Disk to buy, and there’s no need for Ergo in this transaction!
Lisrim (Gold) – New Game+ Only
In a new game plus experience, here’s where you can grab an exclusive item! Look for the vendor situated near the Archon Fleet Shipwreck remnants. As you traverse through your new game plus journey, this merchant will offer you this record for 9000 units of Ergo.
Once you’ve completed our step-by-step guide, this is the final set of DLC Records you’ll require. To get the Memory’s Melody trophy or achievement, simply play all these records at Hotel Krat. Well done, you’ve accomplished it!
