The add-on for the game Lies of P, called Overture, has been mysteriously released, but players will have to make an extra effort to unlock it first.

That’s because the DLC’s storyline becomes clearer when you’re right there in the thick of things. Moreover, it’s also where my character P would be battle-ready to face off against the new enemies introduced in the DLC!

How To Access the DLC | Lies of P: Overture

To play the DLC, you should first ensure that you’ve finished the main storyline up until the conclusion of Chapter 9. This involves progressing to the stage where you go back to Hotel Krat and restart the central Stargazer device within the hotel.

After completing that task, you’ll receive the “Star’s Chrysalis” item in your collection. At this stage, you’ll likely see a message prompting you to head back to the “Path of the Pilgrim” location.

To help jog your memory if it’s been a while since you last played Lies of P, let me remind you that The Path of the Pilgrim is the initial location for Chapter 5 in the game. You can easily transport yourself there by using the Hotel Krat Stargazer as a teleportation point.

What To Do If You’re In New Game+

If you’re currently playing New Game+, unfortunately, you’ll have to progress through the game until you reach Chapter 9 as well, because the Star’s Chrysalis isn’t available at the start of the game. Consequently, you can’t simply use the rusted Stargazer once it appears in Chapter 5. Instead, you’ll need to continue playing all the way up to the point where you return to Hotel Krat.

Unfortunately, at present, there doesn’t appear to be a viable solution for this problem. Fingers crossed that future updates will provide a quicker access point for players wanting to replay Overture. The demand from fans is certainly high for such an improvement, but as of now, the developers haven’t addressed this matter.

As a gamer, I found that the Overture DLC update brought two new challenge levels into the game. You can adjust these settings under the ‘Gameplay’ menu whenever you like. If you’re planning to replay the game with New Game+, consider opting for “Butterfly’s Guidance” for a smoother experience. It significantly reduces difficulty, allowing you to breeze through levels up until Chapter 9 more quickly.

Once you reach Hotel Krat again in that chapter, simply navigate to the settings and change the game mode back to the default “Legendary Stalker” difficulty, then begin the DLC. Don’t feel embarrassed about reducing the challenge level, it’s perfectly fine, especially if it helps bypass a potential developer error.
