Jessica Simpson is putting herself first.

As a devoted admirer, I proudly took my place under the spotlight once more on the American Idol season 23 finale, May 18th. For me, this performance marked a significant step in my broader personal evolution, following my confirmation of separation from my husband, Eric Johnson, earlier in January.

In an exclusive chat with TopMob News following the Idol finale, I couldn’t help but express my profound feelings. “I’m completely in sync with my destiny, perfectly balanced amidst all the chaos,” I shared. “Never before have I felt so light and radiant, and all I can say is some higher power is watching over me.

As the 44-year-old explains, part of her recent transformation can be attributed to trusting her inner guidance, which she has learned to follow since having children Maxwell (13), Ace (11), and Birdie (6) with Eric.

She went on to explain, “I was raised as a minister’s child.” She added that she was always obedient and followed the instructions given by her record label. Her current job, however, is for her own self-expression, which involves being open, authentic, and creating the music that truly resonates with her. Jessica added, “There is nothing more fulfilling.”

Recently married artist recently shared her newest EP titled “Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1” in March. She mentioned that revisiting music creation has served as a healing experience for her.

Regardless of the challenges life presents, she expressed her belief that music has a therapeutic effect on her. Sharing her ability to create music only enhances this healing process.

After her 10-year marriage with Eric ended, Jessica – who was once married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006 – sparked relationship rumors again with Jeremy Renner following their initial connection in 2010. Their interactions on social media and Jessica’s heartfelt endorsement of his new book only added to the speculation.

Before Jessica Simpson officially separated from her husband of 10 years, Eric Johnson, on January 13, 2025, keen-eyed social media users noticed that he hadn’t been featured on her Instagram for quite some time.

Although the “With You” singer had posted birthday and anniversary tributes to Eric in the past, she didn’t do so in 2024. Moreover, Eric wasn’t included in the back-to-school photos that Jessica shared of their children Maxwell, Drew, Ace Knute, and Birdie Mae in September.

In fact, the last time Eric was seen in one of Jessica’s posts was back in April 2024 when she uploaded pictures from their family’s spring break trip to Cabo.

Interestingly, Eric had an Instagram account previously but chose to delete it some time ago. Jessica once mentioned that he isn’t particularly fond of using Instagram, and her last post tagging him was in 2022.

Over the past few months, fans have been pondering about the enigmatic messages that the “Irresistible” artist posted – such as one hinting at upcoming music.

In a November 11 Instagram post, she shared, “Interviews in my Nashville music room where I found my unique charm.”
“This return is about me, it’s an apology to myself for enduring what I should not have had to.

As rumors about Eric and Jessica persisted, her sister, Ashlee Simpson, offered her thoughts on the speculation. When asked directly on November 11 whether there was any basis to the gossip, the singer of “Pieces Of Me” responded briefly to TMZ, saying, “No.

However, just a day later, photographs obtained by the media showed Eric without his wedding ring in Los Angeles.

Just like Jessica, there have been instances where she’s been captured in photographs without her wedding ring. For example, images from a November outing at Los Angeles International Airport and a December visit to the cinema, as evidenced by pictures and videos obtained by the Daily Mail, show this.

It wasn’t immediately noticeable to fans, but it seems that The Dukes of Hazzard actress discretely put her California home in Hidden Hills up for sale for $17,900,000 on January 11 – a move made just days before she announced her separation from the athlete.

In June 2023, Jessica and Eric were last spotted attending a public event together: the grand opening of Bernie Taupin’s “Reflections” exhibit at the Choice Contemporary fine art gallery in Los Angeles.
