As a seasoned gamer with years of Yakuza and Like a Dragon adventures under my belt, I must say that the upcoming release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has me more than just a little bit excited! The prospect of Goro Majima as an amnesiac pirate is already intriguing enough, but when you add in the tried-and-true minigames like Dragon Kart and karaoke, it’s a recipe for nonstop fun.


When “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” releases early next year, it promises to offer another distinctive take on the “Yakuza / Like a Dragon” series, with beloved character Goro Majima playing the lead role as an amnesiac pirate. However, it will also maintain the elements that have made the franchise successful over time – the inclusion of engaging minigames.

Recently, IGN shared approximately 15 minutes of fresh gameplay footage from the upcoming title, “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii“. This sneak peek revealed some of the minigames featured in the game, and interestingly, these two games shown in the video are reminiscent of past series installments.

In this gameplay preview, you’ll find the exhilarating kart racing minigame called Dragon Kart, reminiscent of everyone’s favorite Mario Kart. And let’s not forget about the essential element in every Yakuza title – karaoke! The video also sneakily showcases the game’s various cosmetic customization features. Take a look at it below.

The game titled “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” is scheduled to release on February 28 of the coming year across platforms such as PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be priced at $60 upon purchase.
