Line of Duty season 7 ‘to film next year for broadcast in 2026’

As a dedicated Line of Duty fan who has spent countless hours deciphering AC-12’s intricate plots and theories, this latest update has me practically dancing on the rooftops! After what felt like an eternity of waiting, it seems our favorite police thriller might just be making a comeback.

As a dedicated aficionado of the gripping BBC police drama, Line of Duty, I’ve been eagerly anticipating any whispers about a potential seventh installment. At last, it appears that our long wait might be coming to an end, with tantalizing hints about the show’s future!

It’s been reported in The Sun that the principal cast members – Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure, and Martin Compston – recently held discussions with series creator Jed Mercurio, aiming to finalize a contract and set filming schedules for a possible seventh season of their show.

A source revealed to the media outlet: “Jed has a tight-knit group of friends including Vicky, Martin, and Adrian. They frequently gather for meals, but this occasion was unusual.

Discussed among them was the coordination of their calendars for the year 2025, so that the production of Line of Duty Season 7 might begin as soon as the following year. The plan is to have filming commence in 2025 itself, with the series expected to air on screens by early 2026.

Previously in December 2022, it was announced that the series would make a comeback as a three-episode special, but unfortunately, this did not materialize.
