As a gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the news about LittleBigPlanet 3 being delisted from the PlayStation Store is a bittersweet pill to swallow. My heart goes out to the community, especially those who invested countless hours creating and sharing their masterpieces on this platform.
On October 31st, Media Molecule has informed us that both the main game, LittleBigPlanet 3, and its DLC on the PlayStation 4 will no longer be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store. However, those who already own the games can continue to download and play them after this date.
Absolutely, the game is recognized for its user-generated content. However, due to technical problems that led to an indefinite shutdown of servers earlier this year, these user creations are no longer accessible for download. The campaign and other offline aspects continue to function, and users can still create their own content; they just can’t share it with others at the moment.
It’s not clear if the same technical problems are what led to the removal of the game from sale, as neither Sony nor Media Molecule have offered any clarification on the matter.
