Lizzo Reveals Her Secret to Weight Release, Not Loss

Lizzo is feeling good as hell.

The popular singer known for the hit song “Juice” has openly discussed her body transformation and wellness journey. More recently, she revealed that rather than labeling her physical changes as “weight loss,” she prefers to call it “releasing weight.

She clarified during the April 7th episode of Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, “The burden I no longer carry isn’t just about losing weight or shedding physical pounds. Rather, I’ve shed a great deal to reach this point, and I prefer not to label it as loss.

She added, “I’m not experiencing any loss. I’ve actually gained so much.”

After losing weight, the artist who sings “About Damn Time” continued to discuss the various advantages she’s experienced.

She stated, “I’ve developed a strong understanding of myself.” This realization has led her to embrace a way of living she truly cherishes and feels capable of sustaining. Additionally, she’s acquired fresh insights into dietary habits and the underlying principles of cardiovascular exercise and resistance training.

While Lizzo expresses how rejuvenated she feels on her fitness path, she acknowledges that not everyone may immediately grasp her fresh approach to language.

She mentioned, “Folks might not grasp this at the moment, but it’s the healthiest and most accepting perspective regarding my situation. I prefer to avoid any language that could potentially be harmful or negative.

Indeed, this 36-year-old individual, recognized for promoting body positivity, is mindful about her words during this period of personal transformations.

She expressed a desire to choose her words carefully, explaining that younger individuals observe her and adopt her actions and ideas as she once did. Her goal is to ensure what she shares with the world positively impacts these young people in their personal journeys.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share an exciting update! In a captivating September 2024 TikTok post, Lizzo unveiled her remarkable journey towards fitness. The video started with her gracefully posing in a sleek black two-piece, followed by a transition to a chic gray bodysuit that beautifully highlighted her slimmer silhouette.

As she captioned the clip, “Fine both ways.”

The artist is sharing her weight-loss experiences on TikTok by posting workout videos, among which there’s one detailing how she perseveres during exercise routines.

Today, I was using the Stairmaster at a more challenging level than usual, the celebrity revealed, mentioning that to prevent myself from stopping prematurely, I reduced the speed. “Often, when you feel like giving up, it’s actually because you’ve been pushing yourself too hard. Don’t quit, just lighten up on the pressure a bit.

She confided that she indulged excessively the day before, and she was expressing regret about it. As she recounted the highs and lows of her experience, she emphasized, “I’m trying to keep in mind that my body requires nourishment, and if my body merits comfort, then my mind deserves comfort as well.

Indeed, contrary to some critic’s opinions, she is not taking Ozempic, a drug typically used for Type 1 Diabetes management that also has applications for weight loss.

As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but express my bewilderment. All this fuss over a lady who, let’s be honest, hasn’t shed those extra pounds yet. It seems everyone is penning articles about her weight, as if she’s suddenly lost a significant amount. But where does all this excitement come from? Why are people so taken aback? Is it because I look like a completely different person now, or have you all just been too preoccupied to notice the small changes over time?

She went on to say, “If you’ve been following along, you’ve noticed my consistent efforts, dear. Each day, it’s not only physical labor you’ve observed, but also the progress I’ve made in my spiritual, mental, and emotional aspects.

The award-winning artist was spotted dining at Nobu while donning a semi-transparent black-and-white ensemble by Jean Paul Gaultier. Beneath the dress, she wore a sleek black bodysuit. To complete her outfit, she added a chic leather trench coat draped over her shoulders, accessorized with oversized silver hoop earrings and a pair of dark sunglasses.

Or, in an even more casual way:

The Grammy-winning person was seen having lunch at Nobu in a see-through black-and-white dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. She had a black bodysuit on underneath it. To finish off the look, she put on a leather trench coat and wore big silver hoop earrings, dark sunglasses, too.

Admittedly, she has her ups and downs when it comes to her body.

In an interview with The New York Times in April 2024, she honestly admitted, “I don’t always feel like professing love for my body each day.” She further explained, “My feelings towards my body fluctuate daily. Some days, I appreciate it immensely, while on others, I may not be as positive about it.

Her fitness journey began following her declaration in August 2024, where she mentioned she would be taking a break for a year and prioritizing her personal well-being.

2023 saw her confronted with a legal dispute by some of her previous backup dancers, who claimed she fostered an environment that was both hostile and abusive, and additionally accused her of body shaming. However, she refuted these allegations.

In her Instagram post, she expressed that dedication and a strong commitment (passion) lead to diligence and quality (hard work and high standards). Occasionally, tough choices must be made, but it’s not my aim to cause discomfort or make anyone feel unappreciated or insignificant in the team.

Speaking candidly, she shared that she’s experienced weight-based bullying regularly. She firmly stated that she would never judge or dismiss an employee based on their weight.
