Lizzo is being 100 percent that honest about the 2025 Met Gala.

On May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s yearly Costume Institute Gala in New York City, “Truth Hurts” singer (name) disclosed that frequently, celebrities receive invitations for post-event parties only after they have already attended the main event.

Generally speaking, Lizzo shared during her TikTok Live on May 6 that her publicist is in contact with other publicists, arranging things behind the scenes.

She went on to say, “I wasn’t aware of any parties taking place. By chance, I found myself seated next to Kaytranada, who was DJing at all three [after-parties]. So, I figured, ‘I might as well go to whatever events he’s attending.’

At the Gala event, Lizzo graced the red carpet in a unique black-and-white dress designed by Christian Siriano, complemented by a cigarette holder, high-end Smiling Rocks jewelry, and a stylish blonde hairstyle. During the evening, she engaged with one of the co-chairs, A$AP Rocky, who was hosting his own after-party.

She reminisced, “I learned that he was hosting a gathering and asked, ‘By any chance, could I join your party?’ He replied casually, ‘You’re fine, just go ahead.’ At this point, I hesitated, fearing I might be rejected.

She added, “But yeah, you kind of just mix and mingle and you ask people stuff.”

Apart from dishing out details about the after-party, Lizzo also unveiled some insights regarding the benefit gala itself. Specifically, she talked about what transpired during that event.

Following the meal, a unique finale to the occasion was orchestrated by co-chairs A$AP, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
