Indie studio Lofty Sky Entertainment is presenting a unique offering at PAX East this year: peace. The acclaimed developers behind Shuyan Saga and Eternal Spring have revealed the initial playable demo of their upcoming game, Verse VR, which can now be added to your wishlist on both Meta Quest and Steam VR platforms.

View Urgent ForecastPositioned at Booth #16105, Lofty Sky warmly invites participants to delve into a creative, immersive Virtual Reality journey that seamlessly combines spoken word, artistic expressions from various cultures, and innovative world design. This project, jointly developed with Interactive Ontario and numerous cultural institutions, is called Verse VR. It takes players on a journey through eight visually stunning environments inspired by diverse global cultures, each accompanied by original poetry, music, and visuals.
In various settings such as a vibrant West African hamlet, a peaceful Chinese garden, or while immersed in the profound words of “The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran, Verse VR presents an alternative, calming experience to the usual virtual reality content. Every world within the game is designed for personal, contemplative exploration.
A Global Cast of Artists Brings Verse VR to Life
In a class of its own among VR experiences, Verse VR showcases more than two dozen spoken word presentations and music from artists worldwide, offering an emotional and culturally diverse canvas. Distinguished contributors include griots Sadio Sissokho and Aïcha Sylla, dizi master Lipeng Wu, and erhu virtuoso Amely Zhou. The Deluxe Edition of the game boasts 39 exclusive performances enriched by 17 additional musical tracks and original hand-drawn animations.
Judith Cheung, Creative Director at Lofty Sky, shared her vision: to establish a virtual reality sanctuary that evokes a sense of emotional respite – a place where one can unwind, immerse in poetry, and marvel at the richness of various cultures,” said Judith Cheung.
Beyond Verse VR: New Projects from Lofty Sky
Apart from displaying Verse VR, Lofty Sky is also presenting a fresh demo for its “anti-RPG” sci-fi title, Sky of Tides, along with a new trailer for the related animated series titled Sky of Tides: ATLA. Additionally, guests can register for early access to an as yet undisclosed upcoming project.
According to TopMob, Verse VR is a key player in the surge of interactive games that are pushing the limits of narrative exploration and artistic presentation within the virtual world.
