In Patch 14.16, the highly-anticipated 2024 T1 Worlds skins have been introduced to celebrate the reigning world champions. These skins include:

  • T1 Jayce
  • T1 Lee Sin
  • T1 Orianna
  • T1 Jinx
  • T1 Bard
  • Prestige T1 Jayce

As a gamer, I can tell you that this update often comes with a standard set of adjustments focusing on balance. More specifically, it boosts the power of AP mid laners and AD junglers in the gameplay, making them even more formidable in their respective roles.

Moreover, starting from August 19 with patch 14.16, the Swarm game mode will be shut down. Furthermore, Ranked Split 2 is scheduled to end on September 24, coinciding with patch 14.18.

Ultimately, our development team aims to enhance the matching system and tighten rules against boosting and other types of rank tampering.

LoL patch 14.16 champion changes

In the latest League of Legends update (version 14.16), we see a similar pattern as before, with fewer nerfs and mainly minor tweaks. Yet, there’s a significant increase in the number of champions receiving boosts instead.

  • Azir: Azir gets higher health regeneration and base armor to help out his laning
  • Katarina: The damage of her Q is higher. However, the damage on her E and effectiveness of on-hit for her R receive nerfs. This overall buffs her AP builds, which players lean towards
  • Orianna: The AP ratio on her Q is higher, allowing more damage
  • Skarner: Skarner’s base health and attack damage are higher. His Q gets a better bonus AD ratio.
  • Sylas: His base health, passive damage, and W damage are all higher.
  • Syndra: Syndra’s R does more damage
  • Vi: Vi’s Q damage is higher
  • Wukong: His passive bonus armor gain is higher, as is the bonus attack speed from his E

In the latest League of Legends update, patch 14.16, it’s me, Corki, who’s taking a hit. My Q’s mana cost and cooldown have been cranked up a notch, making my gameplay a tad trickier to manage.

Meanwhile, adjustments arrive for:

  • Lucian: Lucian’s damage on his passive is higher, in exchange for less damage on his Q
  • Qiyana: Qiyana has higher armor, and her Q does more damage (and more bonus damage against monsters). Her W damage and R damage are lower.
  • Senna: All of Senna’s abilities receive tweaks to push her away from a primary damage carry and more to a supportive role. Her passive grants less crit chance, and her Q loses Lethality scaling on its heal in exchange for more AP on her Q healing and slowing. Similarly, her R has better AP scaling on its heal. Her W also roots for longer.

Item balance adjustments and other changes

For items, a few items get some tweaks:

  • Black Cleaver can now stack more reliably, with both attacks and on-hit. For example, Senna can now apply two stacks with an auto-attack and Q combo
  • Blade of the Ruined King gets some nerfs. It grants less AD (55 => 50) and attack speed (30% => 25%). However, it’s on-hit damage improves from 9% to 10% for melees, but remains at 6% for ranged. This is to weaken the item for marksmen, while remaining viable for bruisers.
  • Doran’s Blade also gets nerfs to reduce the sustain power of AD Carries, who get plentiful healing during the early lane. Doran Blade now grants 80 health points (down from 100 HP) and its life steal effect is down to 3% from 3.5%

Additionally, there will be adjustments made to the death timers and speed boosts when characters respawn as a death guard. Specifically, death timers will extend by four seconds for levels 1 to 8, and by two seconds at level 9.

In your respawn, the increased speed at which you move due to decay now lasts a tad longer, extending up to 8 seconds, previously it was only 5 seconds.

Finally, Arena, Spawn and ARAM all receive mode-specific balance changes.
