If you thought you saw a Roadrunner on Tubi, you were correct! Although the original Looney Tunes shorts are no longer streaming on Max or any other service, you can still watch Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester, and their friends online. Starting from April 1st, the free ad-supported television streamer Tubi has begun airing all five seasons of The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries and both seasons of The Looney Tunes Show.
On their ad-supported platform, they are now streaming a grand total of 104 episodes for free, without any subscription needed. You can enjoy seasons 1 and 2 of The Looney Tunes Show, as well as seasons 1 to 5 of The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, by visiting Tubitv.com or downloading the Tubi app.
The animated series titled “Sylvester & Tweety” showcased Joe Alaskey lending his voice to both Tweety Bird and Sylvester, the long-suffering cat, from 1995 to 2002 on Kids’ WB and Cartoon Network. Over a span of 52 episodes, this globe-trotting series followed the escapades of Granny (June Foray) and her detective agency, which also included Sylvester, Tweety, and Hector the “putty dog” (voiced by Frank Welker). Other popular Looney Tunes characters like Elmer Fudd, Taz, Marvin the Martian, Foghorn Leghorn, and Pepé Le Pew made appearances in the series.
This mystery adventure series pays homage to various works, including “The Maltese Parrot” (a take on John Huston’s “The Maltese Falcon”), “The Know-it-All Cat” (inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Man Who Knew Too Much”), “When Harry Met Salieri” (parodying Rob Reiner’s “When Harry Met Sally”), and “A Crazy, Crazy, Crazy, Crazy World” (reimagining the title of “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” as “A Plaid, Plaid, Plaid, Plaid World”).
This animated television series, titled The Looney Tunes Show, showcased Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, both voiced by Jeff Bergman, living as roommates in suburban life. Regular characters included Yosemite Sam, the short-tempered neighbor (Maurice LaMarche), the anxious Porky Pig (Bob Bergen), the infatuated Lola Bunny (Kristen Wiig), Bugs’ pet Tasmanian Devil, Taz (Jim Cummings), and Speedy Gonzales, the restaurateur from Pizzarriba (Fred Armisen). The show ran for 52 episodes across two seasons before it was discontinued in 2014.
On Max, you can stream various Looney Tunes shows such as two seasons of Baby Looney Tunes from 2002, two seasons of New Looney Tunes from 2015, six seasons of Looney Tunes Cartoons starting in 2020, and two seasons of Tiny Toons Looniversity set for release in 2023. Additionally, the live-action/animated hybrid movie Space Jam, released in 1996, has moved to a new streaming platform as of April 1, so it’s not an April Fool’s prank (phew!).
