Lorraine Kelly is “most proud” of launching Change + Check Choir in her career

As a long-time admirer of resilience and determination, I find myself deeply moved by Lorraine Kelly‘s unwavering commitment to the Change + Check breast cancer awareness campaign. Her dedication to this cause is truly inspiring, especially when one considers her already impressive career in journalism spanning over three decades.

Lorraine Kelly ponders back on initiating her Change + Check breast cancer awareness campaign, as the choir unveils a fresh tune with a heartfelt cover of “Love Is All Around.

As a passionate moviegoer and advocate, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Marti Pellow, lead vocalist of Wet Wet Wet, in commemorating the 30-year journey of an iconic song. This unique project sees us joining forces with a dynamic choir to keep the spirit alive, all while raising awareness about breast cancer and emphasizing the importance of early detection.

In terms of everything we’ve accomplished on this program, and the remarkable individuals I’ve had the privilege to speak with, it has truly been exceptional,” she clarified.

Among the achievements I’m most excited about is the success of this campaign. It’s remarkable to know that over 100 women have reached out to the program, sharing their stories of receiving a diagnosis thanks to our efforts. What makes me even more proud is witnessing these women unite and create something beautiful, such as the choir, which has brought about incredible moments that I can only describe as magical. On top of all this, it’s heartening to see how the campaign has also provided assistance in helping them through their journey.

“Mentally, it’s helped a lot of our women [who are] going through difficult times.”

For Lorraine, it’s crucial that she persists in utilizing her platform to spread awareness since “unfortunately, breast cancer remains a persistent issue.

She added: “The key point is clear communication and ensuring everyone can see the sticker. This could be in a dressing room, a gym, or even at work when you’re a police officer, prison officer, or working in the NHS where uniform changes are required. We’ve got them available for all these situations, which is very convenient.

With the single now accessible for streaming, Lorraine expresses hope that “people will download it and share its message widely”.

She explained, “That’s the essence of our work.” What she meant was, “We’re trying to collect funds, and ideally, we’ll discover a cure someday. For now, let’s focus on gathering as much money and spreading as much information as we can.

Tune into ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player daily from 9am to catch Lorraine and the Change + Check campaign. You can also download the charity single, “Love Is All Around,” right now!
