The wandering spirit has now found its dwelling place. During the recent PlayStation State of Play broadcast, the eagerly anticipated Chinese hack-and-slash RPG titled “Lost Soul Aside” unveiled a fresh trailer and a launch date set for May. In this footage, we witness the character Kazer engaged in combat against numerous bosses and realms. Additionally, the storyline and English voiceovers are introduced, which were absent in previous previews.
Additionally, it’s been confirmed that the game “Lost Soul Aside” will be released on May 30th. Originally a solo labor of love, this title has evolved into an impressive production (as suggested by the trailer). However, its long journey from idea to publication, spanning nine years, is finally coming to fruition.
Previously stated, “Lost Souls Aside” initially began as a solo endeavor by Yang Bing. His trailer, released in 2016, has amassed over 4 million views at present. The genesis of this project was sparked, according to IGN, following Bing’s viewing of a “Final Fantasy XV” trailer, where the protagonist Noctis wields various weapons and abilities, which are also evident in Kazer, the protagonist from “Lost Souls Aside”. In 2021, Bing established Ultizero Games with the support of Sony and Tencent to breathe life into this project, now boasting a larger team.
For quite some time, there weren’t many trailers for this particular video game being released. However, it made its first appearance at PlayStation Experience in 2017, as one of the projects chosen under Sony’s China Hero Project – an initiative that funds Chinese studios to develop their titles. Other games from this project include ‘Anno: Mutationem’ and ‘F.I.S.T: Forged in Shadow Torch’. Only recently, a surprising new gameplay trailer was unveiled, hinting at a 2025 release date. Now, we finally have a chance to see more of it and anticipate playing soon.
