This coming Sunday, fans can look forward to the long-awaited comeback of one of the series’ most beloved characters in a new franchise installment. The character in question is Louis Litt, portrayed once again by actor Rick Hoffman. Since the original show wrapped up its nine-season run in 2019, this will mark his first appearance since then. Previous hints about his return have been dropped, and now, Deadline has shared intriguing images from the upcoming project. They also had the opportunity to speak with Hoffman, who shared his enthusiasm for continuing the legacy of a character that many fans love to loathe.

Initially, when the spin-off series “Suits: LA” was unveiled, there were suggestions that some significant characters from the initial show might reappear in guest roles or even become regulars. However, for now, Hoffman’s return in Episode 12 is a single, special appearance, as his character coincidentally attends the same anger management sessions as Stuart (Josh McDermitt). Regarding his comeback, Hoffman expressed:

Isn’t it amazing rather than something to complain about? You’re incredibly fortunate to experience this, considering how rare it is for shows to run for nine years and have the attention we received. Many excellent shows go unnoticed or get canceled prematurely, never getting a second chance like ours. It’s almost like winning multiple lottery jackpots.

The plotline was perfectly logical, as the theme of anger management suggested no other likely scenario. Indeed, I had previously mentioned that the actors on this series should explore their individual spaces to create that unique chemistry and spark. Such a combination is rare, so I was taken aback when I received the call early on. However, I had often discussed potential scenarios with Aaron Korsh before Suits LA, although nothing came of it. Yet, the opening of such an intriguing door was exciting because one character struggles with anger, and then you introduce the calm and composed Louis.

Could ‘Suits’ Fans See More of Louis Litt in the Future?

Fans are surely thrilled by Litt’s comeback, given his convincing portrayal in a therapy session, but will we witness him again in future episodes? Perhaps not, unless Hoffman has his wish granted. He stated:

“We’re leaving it open. Look, selfishly, it would be great. I would love to.”

It’s been clarified that the spinoff show Suits: LA wouldn’t solely rely on old characters, but it has been successfully incorporating some beloved returns, albeit briefly. Whether the balance is right might require a bit more time to determine, as reviews for this series have significantly lagged behind its original counterpart. At present, NBC hasn’t greenlit Season 2 yet, but with Season 1 wrapping up on May 18, we could learn about the show’s future sooner rather than later.
