We’ve witnessed Kizaru’s formidable abilities since before the time-skip, but now Luffy possesses potent Haki and his Gear 5 transformation gives him an edge over most characters. By this stage in the Final Saga, there aren’t many characters stronger than Luffy. Despite this, things were significantly different two years ago. Their first encounter took place during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, following Luffy punching a Celestial Dragon, making him a persistent menace in the world of One Piece.

In the battle’s aftermath, Kizaru effortlessly dominated the entire crew, leaving a trail of destruction. Kuma’s timely intervention kept them alive, yet they were split up for a span of two years. As Luffy bore witness to his friends vanishing before him, he was left in uncertainty about their survival status. Post this catastrophe, both Luffy and Kizaru crossed paths during the Marineford Arc, but it didn’t bring any advantage to Luffy. The unexpected arrival of Luffy and his unwavering spirit left people in awe, yet without the use of Haki and complete command over his Devil Fruit, Luffy was still significantly weaker.

In the time-skip, each member of the Straw Hat crew worked diligently to enhance their abilities and build up their strength, ensuring they wouldn’t be so easily defeated in future battles. The anticipated confrontation between Luffy and Kizaru is set for Episode 1125, promising a spectacular fight that ranks among the series’ best. As a primary antagonist in this arc, Kizaru is bound to cause chaos for the Straw Hats.
