Luke Cage: Mike Colter on a Potential Marvel Return, "I Would Love to Explore It"

As a gamer who’s been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) closely since its inception, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia hearing Luke Cage’s return might be on the cards. Mike Colter‘s portrayal of Power Man was a game-changer for me; his strength, charisma, and unwavering loyalty to Harlem resonated deeply.

Luke Cage actor Mike Colter expressed his desire for a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the premiere of The Union. In an interview with ComicBook, he shared that he’s keen on delving into the possibilities of rejoining the MCU after such a long absence.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but express my eagerness to delve into an intriguing new adventure, should they discover a way to unfold the storyline. It’s truly exciting that Charlie Cox and his team are reviving their project, although I don’t have any concrete info if Luke Cage is part of this reboot as well. Frankly, I’m not keeping my hopes under wraps, but for now, I’m just along for the ride!

Initially, Marvel Studios planned a significant makeover for Daredevil: Born Again, which eventually got scrapped. At one time, they aimed to restart the series entirely, ignoring the three highly-acclaimed seasons on Netflix. However, following some creative rearrangements, Daredevil: Born Again is now being considered as the fourth season of the show instead.

“I believe that decision was correct; they shouldn’t have attempted to reboot it in the first place. Frankly, I can’t fathom what possessed them to do so. To me, it seemed obvious – if it wasn’t broken, why fix it?”

Colter starred as Luke Cage in two seasons of his own series, followed by a crossover appearance alongside Charlie Cox from ‘Born Again’ and several other characters in ‘The Defenders’. As of now, only Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Ayelet Zurer have been officially announced for a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the upcoming season of Daredevil, we’ll see the return of Matt Murdock / Daredevil, played by Cox, along with some familiar faces such as Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter / Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and newcomers Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, and Arty Froushan. However, it remains to be seen if Sandrine Holt, Nikki M. James, Clark Johnson, Michael Gaston, and Harris Yulin will continue with the series following the recent creative changes.

The highly-anticipated series, “Daredevil: Born Again,” is slated to debut on Disney+ come March 2025. If you’re not already a subscriber, you can easily sign up right here.
