The forthcoming anime adaptation of Lycoris Recoil is planned as a collection of six standalone short films, delving into the everyday routines of the characters from the original series. As of now, there’s no announced release date for this mini-series. Given the franchise’s fanbase, these short films could serve as a bridge leading to the next season.
Alongside the fresh poster for “Lycoris Recoil: Friends steal time,” A-1 Pictures hinted at upcoming short films for fans. The studio’s statement reads, “Title and key visual of the original short movie revealed! In ‘Lycoris Recoil: Friends,’ time is stolen. We will share six tales about Senzuko, Takina, and others’ daily lives in the cafe.” Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, there’s a good chance these projects will make their way to North America eventually.

Lycoris Recoil’s Unique Anime Status
Unlike most other anime, Lycoris Recoil wasn’t derived from a pre-existing manga, light novel, or manhwa series. The first episode of the show premiered on July 2nd, 2022, meaning that the manga and light novels for the franchise were released later, several months afterward. If a second season ever comes out, it remains to be seen what challenges might arise for Direct Attack.
