M. Night Shyamalan Teases Work on Next Movie After Trap’s Box Office Success

As a long-time fan of M. Night Shyamalan‘s intricate and captivating storytelling, it’s always a thrill to see him back at work on his next project. The man behind “The Sixth Sense” and “Unbreakable” never fails to leave us guessing, and his latest film, “Trap,” is no exception.

The recent movie “Trap,” directed by M. Night Shyamalan, has been another hit at the box office for this popular filmmaker. Although it didn’t set the box office ablaze, it didn’t need to because its production budget was quite modest – around $30 million, which Shyamalan financed mostly himself. Given these circumstances, “Trap” has proven to be a profitable movie for both Shyamalan and the studio, so it’s not surprising that he’s already planning his next project in the studio.

As we approach the weekend, I, a humble storyteller, shared an exciting sneak peek on Instagram about my upcoming project – still brewing in the depths of my creative mind. I also wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing fans who have been instrumental in supporting me throughout my career, helping me sustain this incredible journey. Here’s a glimpse into what’s filling my thoughts as I write the next chapter – a fresh notebook that serves as the nucleus of inspiration for my upcoming movie. Enjoy the preview!

Every time I create a film, I choose a notebook that resonates with me, jot down ideas, and notes for the upcoming movie inside it. Once the notebook is brimming with concepts, I move on to creating an outline and script. This is the notebook for my seventeenth movie! The vibrant red cover feels just perfect. With [Trap] surpassing 80 million at the box office, I am filled with gratitude and ready to start work on the next film, inspired by all the encouragement you’ve given me throughout the years.

Currently, M. Night Shyamalan is working on a new screenplay, but so far, no specifics about the movie have been disclosed.

In Shyamalan’s recent film titled “Trap“, the story structure diverges from his typical pattern as the central plot twist is presented upfront rather than saved for a dramatic climax. Although there are numerous unexpected developments, the revelation of the culprit’s identity was given away in the initial trailer, leaving viewers to follow the narrative knowing who the killer is throughout the movie.

In an interview with ComicBook before the movie’s summer premiere, Shyamalan discussed the significant transformation in the film titled “Trap“.

Shyamalan remarked that the captivating and intriguing aspect of the movie “Trap” lies in its main character, as the narrative unfolds from his point of view. This unique angle was what drew him to the project. He explained, “We’ve seen countless stories about serial killers, but presenting it from the perspective of ‘you are him,’ and showing a day in his life when he might be caught, offers a fresh perspective.
