As a hardcore horror and sci-fi fan with years of experience in the gaming community, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming “M3GAN 2.0” sequel! The original film was a refreshing blend of horror, comedy, and suspense that left me on the edge of my seat, and I’m eager to see where the story goes next.
The upcoming horror/comedy sequel to last year’s breakout hit “M3GAN,” titled “M3GAN 2.0,” is now officially in production. Originally slated for a release date of June 27, 2025, the film is making good progress towards meeting that deadline. Lead stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are set to reprise their roles, with Allison providing the voiceover for M3GAN. New cast members include Ivanna Sakhno from “Star Wars: Ahsoka,” Timm Sharp (“Percy Jackson and the Olympians”), Aristotle Athari (“SNL”), and Jemaine Clement (“What We Do in the Shadows”). Akela Cooper will pen the script, while Gerard Johnstone will direct. Producers include Jason Blum, James Wan, and Allison Williams.
As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: In the original “M3GAN” game, I took on the role of Gemma, the brilliant roboticist at a toy company. Tragedy struck when my family suffered a loss, leaving me to care for my 8-year-old niece Cady. Juggling both my professional and personal life, I decided to introduce Cady to my latest creation – M3GAN, an advanced AI robot doll designed to provide companionship and care.
As a huge fan of the first M3GAN movie, I can’t help but get excited about what’s in store for us in M3GAN 2.0! Although the plot details are still under wraps, it’s easy to imagine where this story could go based on the foundation laid out in the original. With M3GAN now capable of operating across entire networks and systems, we might see anything from a house filled with smart home traps reminiscent of the Saw series, to an army of M3GAN dolls unleashed! And let me tell you, given the playful tone of the first film, nothing is off the table for this sequel. Absurd ideas are more than welcome!
As a gamer, I’ve been excitedly following the expansion of the M3GAN Universe. I can hardly wait for the new spinoff movie, SOULM8TE, which is currently in production. In this story, I, as the protagonist, would acquire an Artificially Intelligent android to help me deal with the grief of losing my beloved wife. I’d try my best to create a truly sentient companion but, unintentionally, I’d end up turning a harmless lovebot into a dangerous and deadly soulmate instead. James Wan promises an adrenaline-pumping and alluring addition to the M3GAN Universe with SOULM8TE.
As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to share that Jason Blum, the brilliant mind behind Blumhouse Productions, has dropped some intriguing hints about M3GAN potentially intersecting with other horror films. One of which is this year’s chilling production titled Imaginary. Can you imagine the terror and suspense that combination could bring?
