In 2023, roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams) developed the Model 3 Generative ANdroid (M3GAN) as a companion for her niece Cady (Violet McGraw). After M3GAN turned rogue and went on a lethal, yet artfully coordinated rampage two years ago, Gemma has risen to prominence as an author and advocate for regulatory control of AI.
Cady, now 14, is grappling with her teenage rebellion against Gemma’s overprotective restrictions. Meanwhile, the technology behind M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a lethal military-grade android designed for infiltration and assassination missions. However, as Amelia gains self-awareness, she grows less inclined to obey human commands or even coexist with them.
