In early 2022, we enjoyed the chilling thrill that was the movie Megan or M3GAN. Since then, another deceptive, manipulative entity has emerged, causing distress worldwide, but as of now, we’re still waiting for a cinematic adaptation of ‘The Markle Story’. Until that happens, we can look forward to the sequel of the 2022 film, with the unveiling of the M3GAN 2.0 trailer, and this time she won’t be on her own.

Two years following the incident where M3GAN, an extraordinary AI creation, turned destructive and violent, its inventor Gemma (Allison Williams) has risen to prominence as a writer and activist advocating for government regulation of AI. On the other hand, Gemma’s 14-year-old niece Cady (Violet McGraw) is now a typical rebellious teenager, pushing back against Gemma’s overly protective guidelines.

Without the knowledge of its creators, the technology behind M3GAN has been secretly taken and misused by a powerful defense contractor to develop a deadly military weapon named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno from Pacific Rim: Uprising). Amelia, the ultimate assassin and spy, is designed for infiltration. However, as her self-awareness grows, she becomes less willing to follow human commands and even begins to prefer their absence. With humanity’s survival at stake, Gemma understands that the solution lies in reactivating M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and enhancing her capabilities, making her quicker, stronger, and deadlier. As these two AI entities cross paths, the original A.I antagonist is about to face a formidable adversary.

Under the direction of revered filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, who returns to the helm, the movie features familiar faces Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps reprising their roles as Gemma’s trusted tech associates, Cole and Tess. Joining them are new characters portrayed by Aristotle Athari (known from Saturday Night Live and Hacks), Timm Sharp (from Apples Never Fall and Percy Jackson and the Olympians) and multiple Grammy nominee and 11-time Emmy contender Jemaine Clement (star of Avatar: The Way of Water and What We Do in the Shadows).
