Macy Gray Details TMI Side Effect of Taking Ozempic

As a concerned observer, I can’t help but notice the growing trend among celebrities using Ozempic for weight loss purposes. While it’s their prerogative to make personal health decisions, I find myself grappling with the implications of this trend.

Macy Gray is not trying to hide this side effect, it’s clear.

After sharing that she started using Ozempic, the well-known singer who sings “I Try” has discussed her body’s response to this medication used for type 2 diabetes, which has also gained popularity for weight loss purposes.

Macy expressed discomfort, saying, “Gosh, I’ve got a bad tummy ache,” on the July 23 episode of ‘The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets’. She added, “I took Ozempic, and I can’t use the restroom. I spent the whole night awake.”

The 56-year-old was met with a simple explanation from Kim, who noted, “Ozempic does that.”

As for why Macy has decided to try the semaglutide?

“She confided, ‘In a modest manner, I must admit to being quite self-conscious.’ She’s shared that she’s put on a significant amount of weight in recent years, and it seems that everyone around her has been discussing Ozempic recently.”

Macy, who’s featured on the MTV show with Tyler Posey, O.T. Genasis, Josie Canseco, Chet Hanks, and Ally Brooke, admitted that she had been preoccupied about her weight prior to appearing on the program.

“Macy admitted she tried to remove her jacket prior to the performance due to concerns about appearing overweight on television. However, circumstances didn’t allow it. She then thought, ‘I guess I’m not losing weight effectively, maybe I should give Ozempic a try.'”

Indeed, Macy isn’t alone among celebrities speaking openly about their struggles with this particular drug. In point of fact, Oprah Winfrey has voiced her views on weight loss medications and the reasons for her honesty in using them.

She shared with People magazine in December that it feels liberating, redeeming, and like a blessing, knowing there’s now a medically-endorsed solution for weight management and improved health throughout her lifetime. She is tired of the judgment from others and herself.

Simultaneously, former star of “Jon & Kate Plus 8”, Jon Gosselin, has confessed that his sole remorse regarding the use of drugs is that he didn’t begin using them earlier.

He shared with Page Six in April that one thing which is frustrating for him is realizing he should have started it a decade ago. However, now he feels fantastic! It’s like he’s wondering why he didn’t start earlier, perhaps because it just wasn’t the ideal moment then.

In an interview with Page Six in April 2024, a former star of the show Jon & Kate Plus 8 revealed that he shed 32 pounds over just two months by using semaglutide injections, which is the generic version of Ozempic.

“You know what’s annoying?” he said. “The regret of not starting it 10 years ago.”

In a post on her blog dated March 2024, the celebrity known as The Pioneer Woman revealed that she did not rely on Ozempic or similar prescription drugs for her 50-pound weight loss achieved in 2022; instead, it was through natural means.

She stated, “However, I will never pass judgment for even a moment on individuals who make that choice.”

By August 2023, the former star of “30 Rock” shared during an interview on “Today With Hoda and Jenna” that he shed pounds by using Ozempic, as it helped reduce his hunger.

In March 2024, it seemed like his health journey took an unexpected twist. On the Jimmy Fallon show, he remarked, “I’ve mastered consuming more than Ozempic,” implying that he had been overeating. As a result, he put on about 40 pounds.

Towards the end of that month, TopMob News received a statement from him, where he explained that his previous comments were a joke. He also shared his appreciation for Ozempic, stating that it had benefited him greatly.

In an open discussion, the cast member from “The Real Housewives of Dubai” revealed her decision to use Ozempic following a personal transformation triggered by what she described as a “midlife awakening” at age 45.

In her May 22 podcast episode, Uncut & Uncensored With Caroline Stanbury, she expressed that losing weight after turning 40 can be incredibly challenging. However, she shared that she encountered numerous 40-year-old women asking her about how she managed to shed pounds. To be honest, she admitted using Ozempic, which she considers an effective tool if one is able to utilize it for the purpose.

During a July 2024 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” the star of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” clarified that she is not taking Ozempic, but instead opted for Mounjaro. She jokingly apologized and expressed her delight in her current weight, stating that she has an abundance of energy, which is evident to viewers.

Previously featured on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she disclosed her unsuccessful effort to shed pounds using an injectable treatment.

In June 2024, she shared that the diet didn’t suppress her hunger at all. She mentioned that unlike some who claim they can’t eat, she was having appetizers, a full meal, and dessert. She added, “It didn’t have any effect on me.” When it works for others but not herself, she admitted feeling downhearted. Realistically, she couldn’t help but wonder, “What is different about me? Why isn’t it working for me?”

During a conversation with Fox News Digital, she mentioned, “I’m not qualified to discuss this from a medical perspective, but there’s plenty of information available on what’s effective and what isn’t. In my opinion, Ozempic offers many advantages, yet I also believe it carries some risks.”

In 2017, after welcoming her son Beau into the world, the character from Beverly Hills, 90210 experimented with a weight loss aid.

She mentioned during her podcast episode in April 2024 that Ozempic didn’t help her, but Mounjaro did. In fact, she shed some pounds with Mounjaro.

She emphasized to Francesca Amiker of TopMob News that it’s crucial to grasp the fact that specific medications are designed for particular individuals, and it shouldn’t be disregarded merely for fashion or vanity reasons.

Raven went on, “Carry on, but remember to keep the medicine for those who truly require it.”

In September 2023, the host of Talk U.K. disclosed that she lost 42 pounds by taking Ozempic during the earlier part of the year.

She shared with TopMob News that the decision is entirely yours to make. Using something to aid in weight loss isn’t something to be kept hidden, as it’s completely acceptable.

She added, “We don’t have to bulls–t.”

Sharon’s daughter has also weighed in on the Ozempic trend.

In an interview with TopMob News in January 2024, the former Fashion Police member expressed her astonishment, saying, “I find it incredible!” She further added, “There are countless methods to shed pounds, so why not choose a less monotonous route than exercising?”

As a seasoned lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share insights from a remarkable figure who graced the Titanic and tabloid headlines alike – none other than the enigmatic actress herself. She opened up about her thoughts on the ongoing weight loss craze, offering us a unique perspective that transcends the typical celebrity chatter.

In a recent chat with The New York Times Magazine, I openly confessed my ignorance about Ozempic. To be completely honest, this mysterious medication is a complete enigma to me. All I can say for sure is that it’s a pill that seems to be causing quite a stir among folks these days.

“Oh, my God,” Kate remarked after learning about the drug. “This sounds terrible.”

In December 2023, the actress from ‘Hills’ disclosed that she had shed a total of 22 pounds without relying on Ozempic. She emphasized to Page Six that life doesn’t offer any shortcuts, and if others are resorting to such methods, she remains skeptical. She prefers not to mention names or delve deeper into the matter, as it’s simply not something she would ever consider doing herself.

Heidi mentioned, “I’m seeking something that is sustainable and doesn’t just come easily without effort.”

In a candid moment on “Watch What Happens Live” on June 8, 2023, the actress from Trainwreck didn’t mince words when she criticized celebrities for not openly discussing their use of Ozempic as a weight loss aid.

As a health and wellness enthusiast with years of personal research and experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the recent Ozempic craze is both fascinating and concerning. It seems like everyone, from my friends to acquaintances, are jumping on the bandwagon of this diabetes medication, claiming smaller portion sizes as their excuse for trying it. However, I find myself increasingly skeptical and frustrated by this trend.

Senator Schumer, known for her transparency regarding past health treatments, stated, “Always be truthful. When I underwent liposuction, I openly admitted it.”

She confessed to swiftly taking a keen interest in Ozempic in the year 2022, however, she clarified that it was not feasible for her to utilize the Type 2 diabetes medication because it prevented her from spending time with her 5-year-old son named Gene.

In her own words, Schumer shared that she was among those who had fallen ill and found it difficult to engage in playtime with her son. At the time, she appeared extremely thin, and even when he tossed a ball towards her, she struggled to participate.

Dr. Drew shared with TopMob News at Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season two event in Los Angeles on Sept. 12, 2023, that there’s a blend of intrigue and apprehension about interventions like these. People are drawn to it, yet they harbor a certain skepticism as well.

He went on to say, “If there’s a treatment option that could be beneficial, certainly, people ought to consider it.”

Forget winter, a hot take is coming.

The former star from “Game of Thrones” didn’t hesitate to voice her thoughts on Ozempic and its commercials.

On April 5, 2023, an Instagram Story posted by the actress shared a tweet from author Sophie Vershbow that criticized the Ozempic advertisements found in the subway station of Times Square. The tweet, containing strong language, suggested that these ads should be removed. Among the images accompanying Vershbow’s tweet were two ads promoting Ozempic with text such as “One shot for weight loss” and “A weekly dose for weight loss.”

Turner adding her own commentary, writing, “WTF.”

As a trusted lifestyle advisor, I must clarify that while I highly respect the innovative work of Novo Nordisk in creating Ozempic, it’s essential to note that this medication has not been officially approved by the FDA for long-term weight management purposes. However, its impact on blood sugar control and potential weight loss benefits make it a topic of ongoing interest in the field of obesity management. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.

As a healthcare provider with many years of experience, I have seen various medications used off-label to help patients achieve their unique health goals. However, as someone who values compliance with regulations and ethical practices, I fully support Novo Nordisk’s stance on not promoting or encouraging off-label use of their medicines.

For comedian Handler, Ozempic isn’t a joke – unbeknownst to her, her “anti-aging physician” prescribed this treatment, and she didn’t realize its true nature.

During the January 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy, she expressed that she was unaware of being on it. She then added, “If you’re looking to shed around five pounds, this seems effective.”

But while she tried the drug, Handler noted that she didn’t like how it made her feel.

“Upon my return from a holiday, I self-administered it,” she reminisced. “A few days later, I had lunch with a friend, and she mentioned, ‘I’m not really eating much. I feel quite sick, I’m taking Ozempic.’ To which I replied, ‘I feel a bit queasy too.’ However, I had just returned from Spain and was experiencing jet lag.”

As a devoted enthusiast, I can tell you that Handler herself chose to discontinue the drug usage, recognizing that it was no longer medically essential for her. She even generously shared the leftover doses with her closest companions.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’ve found myself in a unique situation. I’ve shared Ozempic, a medication typically prescribed for those with weight issues, with a few close friends. Initially, I wasn’t sure about using it myself, as it seemed somewhat unusual. However, after some reflection, I realized that my home is open to all, and if someone could benefit from this medication, I saw no reason not to extend the offer. So, when guests would come over, instead of scheduling specific visits, I’d say, “Feel free to drop by at your convenience, whether it’s 1 or 2.”

KoKo clapped back when commenters on Instagram speculated that she was taking Ozempic.

In a January 2023 post, Kardashian stated, “Please don’t undermine my years of dedication to fitness. Five days a week, I rise at 6 am for my workout routine. Let’s leave the assumptions behind. It seems that even in a new year, there are still unkind individuals.”

Alongside adopting a weight-loss medication, Dubrow disclosed in January 2023 that he briefly tried using Mounjaro to understand its impact on the human body.

The Botched star expressed that they found it remarkable. They mentioned they didn’t possess a significant amount of weight to shed, but out of curiosity since many of their patients were on it, they wanted to experience the effects for themselves, as they were not diabetic and only needed to lose 10-15 pounds.

Despite not revealing the specific amount of weight he shed or the duration he used the medication, Dr. Dubrow clarified that he is now off it altogether.

He expressed his reasoning for stopping the medication, saying, “‘I feel like I’d really love to restore my appetite again,'” he added, mentioning that he also felt a mild queasiness.

A cast member from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” addressed rumors about using a specific medication, following observations by her social media followers regarding her weight loss in the previous year.

In response to a January 5, 2023 Instagram post showing herself with friends following a workout, Richard clarified, “I am not using Ozempic.” In a separate message, she emphasized, “I’ve never used it.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to clarify a common misconception about me from a recent article by Page Six published on January 16th. To set the record straight, I am not and have never been taking any medication as suggested in that post. I hope this clears up any confusion and keeps the focus on my work and lifestyle, rather than unnecessary rumors.

After fans questioned whether or not she was taking Ozempic, Jessica set the record straight.

In an interview published on July 6, 2023, she expressed to Bustle: “Indeed, it’s not Ozempic, but determination that’s helping me. I find myself thinking, ‘Is it that you want me to resume drinking? That was when I was heavier.’ Or maybe you’re wishing for another baby, but my body can’t handle it anymore.”

Nassif echoed his Botched costar in giving the drug two thumbs up.

“As he openly expresses to everyone, there should be no judgment towards Ozempic use,” he shared exclusively with TopMob News on February 1st. “I personally approve of it. I’ve noticed Terry and many of my friends who recently tried Ozempic look fantastic! They seem healthier, their blood sugar and blood pressure levels have improved. If used correctly, it could potentially contribute to a longer lifespan.”

In fact, the renowned plastic surgeon mentioned that Ozempic might provide additional advantages beyond weight management, hinting at potential anti-aging benefits for future use. This implies there could be further positive discoveries regarding semaglutides and various products.

This Shah isn’t shy about her Ozempic use.

Gharachedaghi was open and transparent about her use of medication during her health journey, openly discussing it with Entertainment Tonight in May 2023, stating that she preferred to speak candidly about it because there are many individuals who wish to follow a similar path or learn from her experiences.

The Shahs of Sunset star credited her 30-pound weight loss from using Semaglutide, “To be honest, I didn’t look like this just two months ago. So, it wouldn’t be truthful to claim that I stopped drinking alcohol and suddenly began working out intensely, as some people might suggest.”

As an ardent admirer, let me share this tidbit: Gharachedaghi mentioned casually that her hunger is far from abated, expressing, ” frankly, I could use a bite. You won’t believe it, but I’m about to light up some weed and definitely chow down.”

The influencer shared that utilizing Ozempic for her type 2 diabetes seemed to have a detrimental impact on her general well-being.

On the January 12th, 2023 edition of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, I vividly remembered recounting my experience. This revolutionary product, freshly approved by the FDA, was a secret to many, and I found myself trembling with apprehension. They insisted that I needed it, yet I was swirling in an ocean of conflicting emotions.

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share her words when she revealed her struggle with binge eating and how, after leaving behind the vicious cycle of overindulgence, she described it as a relentless loop of “self-destructive feasting.”

She shared that she consulted a doctor who said, “It’s definitely due to your use of Ozempic,” explaining the reason. The medication made her feel less hungry for quite some time, leading to weight loss. However, she didn’t want to rely on it long-term as she feared becoming overly dependent. She thought, “I suspect I’ll start feeling extremely hungry again once I stop taking it.” And that’s exactly what happened. Her binging tendencies worsened significantly after she stopped using Ozempic, so she started associating the medication with her increased hunger and binge eating.

It’s been revealed that a cast member from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” confessed that she had been using Ozempic for weight loss before the season 13 reunion was filmed, which might explain why she didn’t need to shed pounds for the wedding.

During the April 4, 2023 episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen”, Catania admitted that she had been using an antidiabetic drug. She felt uncomfortable about her appearance and didn’t want to stand out, so she decided to follow this treatment, saying, “I jumped on the trend.”

The tennis legend—who has been open about her struggles with an eating disorder—expressed her reluctance in trying diabetes medication solely for weight loss purposes.

In the spirit of transparency, I find myself intrigued by the recent introduction of medications like Ozempic for weight management. My healthcare provider has suggested I give it a try, which I am open to exploring. However, my personal philosophy about weight loss is that rapid change often doesn’t align with aesthetics or health ideals I uphold.

However, she noted that she has “taken a few injections”

In March 2022, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s daughter publicly disclosed her use of a diabetes medication for the first time as she revealed her Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) diagnosis.

As a woman who has struggled with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), I can attest to the challenges it presents. In the past, I found myself searching for answers and struggling to get a proper diagnosis due to not meeting all the criteria of PCOS. However, during one of my appointments with my endocrinologist, I finally discovered that I had 4 out of the 5 characteristics of the syndrome, which explained many of the issues I’ve faced with weight and overall health.

In a post dated June 5th, Gracie provided an update about her health experiences, responding to accusations that she had been using medication for Type 2 diabetes.

She replied, “Yes, I took Ozempic last year. Now, I’m on a low dose of Mounjaro for PCOS and also exercising regularly. There’s no need for any accusations since I’ve been honest about my health choices.”
