Madden NFL 25 Announces Running Back Ratings, Second 99 Club Member

As a die-hard football fan with decades of experience under my belt, I can say that this year’s “Ratings Week” for Madden NFL 25 has been nothing short of exhilarating! The news about Tyreek Hill and Christian McCaffrey joining the coveted 99 Club is music to my ears. It’s only fitting for the cover athlete, McCaffrey, to earn such a high rating. After all, he led his team to the Super Bowl brink, narrowly missing out on victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Yesterday marked the beginning of “Ratings Week” for Madden NFL 25, unveiling the complete ratings for wide receivers and safeties. In this initial reveal, it was confirmed that Tyreek Hill from the Miami Dolphins has taken the top spot in the wide receiver rankings, becoming the first member of the coveted 99 Club, surpassing Minnesota Vikings standout Justin Jefferson. Today’s update showcases the ratings for every running back and defensive lineman within Madden NFL 25, with Christian McCaffrey, the cover athlete for Madden 25 and San Francisco 49ers runner, being the second member to join the exclusive 99 Club.

It’s no wonder that McCaffrey earned a 99 OVR rating given he is the cover athlete for Madden NFL 25. However, it’s not always the case that the team gives this high rating to its cover stars (for instance, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen had a 94 OVR in Madden NFL 24). McCaffrey has, indeed, proven himself as the top player at his position and led the Niners to the Super Bowl, where they came very close to beating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Interestingly, the Chiefs have the highest-rated defensive lineman this year with DT Chris Jones receiving a 97 rating. Here’s the complete list of the top 10 running backs and defensive linemen in EA Sports Madden NFL 25:
