The upcoming Madden NFL 26 game, part of the popular football series, has officially announced its release date, which is August 14th. The developers at EA Sports are just starting to ramp up the excitement for the pre-launch phase. Additionally, they have revealed the athlete gracing this year’s cover. If you followed last season’s NFL closely, you may not be too shocked by their choice. After all, one player made a significant impact on the league in his debut season with his team, even leading them to a Super Bowl victory.
As a die-hard gamer, I’m psyched to announce that Saquon Barkley will grace the cover of Madden NFL 26, embodying the Philadelphia Eagles and the entire NFL! Unlike the cover for EA Sports College Football 26, the deluxe edition doesn’t feature any additional players. That’s not really a shocker since, while both games are football-centric, it’s been quite some time since EA Sports has added multiple athletes to the deluxe cover.
It would have been an exciting bonus to feature Jalen Hurts or Philadelphia’s offensive line on the premium cover, but this design is still appealing and should delight devoted Eagles fans. Moreover, it’s great when Electronic Arts Sports avoids using Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes on the cover, as it’s better to distribute recognition more broadly.
Regarding further updates on Madden NFL 26, the developers have scheduled a complete unveiling for June 4th. At present, we’re not privy to many details about this year’s edition, but since Barkley is the cover athlete, we’re anticipating that the reverse hurdle might still be featured in the game. Madden NFL 25 introduced it last year following Barkley’s spectacular play, and he was the only player who could perform it. It will certainly be exciting to find out if more players can master this move in Madden 26.
One fact we can confirm is the perks you’ll receive by pre-ordering different versions of Madden 26. Purchasing the standard edition grants access to the base game, a premium player item for Madden Ultimate Team featuring the cover athlete, an XP Boost for your Legendary Superstar in the game, and some bonus coach points for Franchise mode.
Those who choose the deluxe edition or the MVP Bundle (which comprises the deluxe versions of Madden 26 and CFB 26) will enjoy various benefits in addition to the rewards mentioned. The main novelty is early access for three days, starting from August 11th. Moreover, you’ll receive 4,600 Madden Points, multiple Solo Challenges for MUT available before others, a Season 1 Elite player item choice pack, and an exclusive Player Card item.
On August 14th, the latest version of Madden NFL, namely Madden NFL 26, will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Excitingly, it’s also set to launch on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. If you’re planning to get a new console, you’ll have a fresh edition of Madden NFL 26 ready to play. Keep an eye out for June 4th as that’s when we’ll unveil all the details about Madden NFL 26. Fingers crossed, they might introduce some new or revamped game modes this year!
