Title “Mafia: The Old Country” hints at a return to a bygone era and location, delving into the roots of organized crime in Italy – its origin story.
In the latest release, teams Hangar 13 and Stormind Studios give a tour of their efforts to replicate the atmosphere of turn-of-the-century Sicily – with Stormind, being rooted right there on the island.
To create a truly authentic environment, it appears the development team has been drawing upon old photographs, their past experiences from Mafia II’s trip to Sicily, and personal visits to the island for information and location discovery – demonstrating a clear passion for detail.

From our vantage point, it appears quite promising – we eagerly anticipate exploring the site ourselves once the game becomes available on August 8th.
In Mafia: The Old Country, they’re returning to fundamental elements by abandoning the open-world format and opting for a more focused design that follows a straight-forward storyline instead.
