On August 8, the game “Mafia: The Old Country” is set to debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam. This unintentional announcement was made by both publisher 2K and developer Hangar 13.
News arrives through a blog post on Steam about the game’s upcoming developer panel at PAX East 2025 on May 8th. Although the English version of the post doesn’t specify a release date, other versions (LATAM, Japanese, Korean, etc.) mention that “Mafia: The Old Country” will be released on August 8, 2025. Pre-orders for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam are currently available.
It appears that the launch date for the game was intended to be disclosed during the Hangar 13 developer panel at PAX East 2025. This event is where they’ll unveil the first trailer for the new gameplay, as well as offering a glimpse into the history, current state, and future plans of the series through a behind-the-scenes perspective.
